1999 and 2006 don't count since they were quarter or half years.
But from 2000 to 2005, the man was on. Question is, what was his best year?
2000: European, IC, and WWE title. Also King of the Ring. Had matches with Jericho, Benoit, Rock, Undertaker, HHH to name a few.
2001: WWE Defender. Pretty much was on fire from the beginning of the InVasion until the end.
2002: Bald and Smackdown 6 era.
2003: Lesnar-Mania.
2004: Your Smackdown GM. And some other stuff.
2005: HBK was his ultimate dance partner when it is all said and done.

IMO either 2002 or 2003.
2002 had the great series with Edge, and the awesome tag stuff with Benoit later in the year.
2003 had the Lesnar feuds, main eventing Mania, but he was also out for about 1/3 of the year.
I'll go with '02.

2000 and 2003 are the ones I am partial to, but I voted 2000, just since I really liked that year for him.

Judging by the votes so far, nice to see it's so balanced. Seems his WWE career as a whole was balanced out with greatness.

I don't think a single person could possible vote for 2004 when it's titled "SD GM ... and other stuff."
He at least had a great series of matches with Eddie Guerrero that could've been mentioned. Loved all those matches.

2001 for me.
Enters the year as Champion (albeit a pretty forgettable reign!) An excellent feud with Benoit Putting on 3 quality matches in one night at King of the Ring Memorable moments and matches with Austin during the invasion Becoming saviour of the WWF at Survivor Series

I liked his debut year (2000) but in 2002 he was just on another level!

Probably 2001 or 2002. 2001 if you like the WWF main event style as he was amazing at it. 2002 was when he switched up his style after getting thrown in the mix with Rey, Benoit, Eddie etc to the more hard hitting suplex machine stuff that they're still replicating today in 2015 WWE.
Personally I gotta go with 2003. Why isn't 2006 mentioned in this list though? Doesn't make any sense. Deserves to be on that list more than 2004 where he didn't do anything at all other than the Eddie stuff. vs Taker, vs Henry, vs Orton, WM22, vs RVD, etc were fantastic. I understand that he left half way....but Angle was also on the shelf for alot of 2004 so ? ? ? ? ??

2002-2003 he was the franchise player of the wwe and in my opinion the best wrestler in the world. He had great matches with everybody, from Benoit to Mysterio.
I picked 2003 because I still don't know how he was able to work Wrestlemania 19 in the shape his neck was in. He got an emergency surgery right after the match. Apparently John Laurinaitis knew that Kurt also had a tumor in his neck but didn't told Angle or his family...what a douchebag.
It's also the year he had the legendary ironman match with Brock and he also helped elevate Cena to become a main eventer.

2001 or 2002. Both absolutely fantastic years
Funny how, looking back, he REALLY felt out of place in his non-main event roles in 2002 and everyone and their momma realized this guy belongs at the top ffs (which is why Heyman and Vince had the easy decision of putting the strap on him in december)

2001 was the first one that came into my head. It was in 2001 that he added the ankle lock to his arsenal and also in 2001 when he became the top babyface in the WWE and he was super over,
2002 is the answer though. He has the excellent Edge feud, the three way Vengeance match, the match with Mystero at Summerslam, Benoit at Unforgiven, the greatest 2 vs 2 tag match in WWE history when he teamed with Benoit to face Edge and Rey at No Mercy and then you factor in the rest of the Smackdown Six stuff with the Guerrero's and wow.
I would really like to cheat and go for a 12 month period rather than a calender year and from the Raw after Wrestlemania 22 to Wrestlemania 23 so that it could include Angle vs Benoit at the 03 Rumble (one of the greatest matches ever) and the Brock Mania match and you don't lose much good stuff in 2002 either by doing that. I'm not sure anybody has ever a better 12 month period in wrestling than that.

Agreed, his work with The Undertaker at NWO 2006 is one of the best matches ever, and in general he was really great in 2006. So I would've picked 2006 myself, even if it wasn't 12 full months.
