DYKG tackles a somewhat obscure (compared to the others they've done YouTube videos on) franchise, and one of my personal favorite RPGs. Here, you'll find out about the forefather of the franchise, why they got around to "Dark Dawn", the bad ending of the first game, and how a random Nintendo of America commercial in 2001 that promoted the GameBoy Advance yielded a summon monster.

I haven't played the DS one yet, but I love the first one. Sadly my couple of the second game was broken, so I couldn't play that, either.

Only played the first one when I first got it alongside the GBA for Christmas, and it was the only game I played when I wasn't playing Pokemon Crystal. I remember really enjoying it, but I don't remember ever beating it, especially when I started playing less the more games I got for the GBA.
I might try to play it again for a nostalgia run. Is the DS one any good?

Is the DS one any good? Dark Dawn is actually pretty good. There's a lot of variety with combat, such as weapons having special abilities, Psynergy, and summons. What hurts it is the fact that there are 3 points of no return, and there are a few plot holes that were likely placed there with the hopes of making a sequel soon after. The Takahashi brothers have stated that they'll make Golden Sun 4 only if there is enough demand, but I want it just to resolve the franchise. I'm very adamant about it being the ultimate "have not" when it comes to Nintendo franchises and Super Smash Bros. Until I saw this video, I thought Camelot only made games for SEGA until Mario Tennis in 2000.

I played the hell out of the GS 1 and 2 as a kid. Aside from the unskippable long ass talking parts, I loved it.
