Could be but then again the people who do the booking would like him more so it's a trade off. Besides that, I recall somebody on FAN saying his appearance makes him not believable so he's not a fan of Owens, it varies.

If Kevin Owens got ripped, he'd probably be face of the company yesterday.

About 50 percent of Kevin Owens threads would disappear or be many posts shorter.
That said, if he got ripped, I would think he was absolutely using hormones or steroids. His body isn't made for that, it isn't in his genes. Even if he had a ton of muscle, and he already probably is quite strong, it'd mostly show on his arms, since I think that a gut is just in his DNA.

I think a big part of his appeal is the fact he doesn't look like an athlete, so yeah it's possible.

I think a big part of his appeal is the fact he doesn't look like an athlete, so yeah it's possible. I disagree. I don't think people like him BECAUSE he's fat. They like him because IN SPITE of being fat, he works hard, he's talented, and quite athletic. Fans don't want "wrestlers of all body types" in the WWE so much as they want "talented performers to be pushed and showcased regardless of their body type". It's what sets guys like Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe apart from Bull Dempsey. It's not that they don't want to see bodybuilders and athletes, It's that they don't want to see guys pushed based on "the look" without having any real talent to justify their push or see really good workers be marginalized for having a less than perfect physique. Liking a guy and wanting them to be pushed just because they're fat is no different from liking and wanting them to be pushed because they're jacked to the gills. Fans want to see good wrestlers get the spotlight they deserve, while WWE seems focused a great deal on the wrestlers bodies. What WWE really, really hopes for is a magical unicorn of a guy who has the look they like but ALSO has the talent and good will with smarks of the typical high profile indy alumnus.

Hey, if Bubba Ray can get into excellent shape after like 15 years of being a fat guy, I don't see why Owens can't.

Nah, I think him being fat is absolutely a huge part of his appeal to his sector of fans. A lot of them probably share the same build which is why everyone gets so f***ing sensitive when jokes are made at his expense like no other.

I still, to this day, shout "LOOKIT DESE CAAHVES" to no-one in particular after I do legs at the gym. Anyhoo, assuming his sudden ripped-ness doesn't mean he loses all in-ring & promo ability, as well as his little in-ring ad-libs, I'd be fine with him still. EDIT: I'd like to clarify, I wait until I've gotten home to do so, rather than just hopping off the incline leg-press & screaming about my calves in the middle of the gym.

Aside from rare situations, most people's metabolisms are about the same.
It's common and easy to blame genetics, but it's usually not genetics' fault. Plus, he has shown that he could clean up a bit when he wants to. December 2014/Early 2015- Looking pretty trim for Kevin standards Summer 2015- A bit more potbellied {Spoiler} You could also see that it's not just his gut; his high overall bodyfat shows on the chin, arms, and back of the neck. I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I am, by all means, an Owens fan who proudly owns two of his t-shirts, but chances are KO just doesn't keep his calories in check. It's also probably harder for him now on the road with the main roster without the performance center and having to rely on convenience food. With all of that in mind, I will say that I don't think a ripped Owens would "work," so to speak, because then he's just be another sub-six foot guy like Balor or Ziggler, minus the conventional handsomeness. I think his chunkyness gives him some size and really helps out with his 'bully' character.

Jeez. Owens looks straight up slim in those initial NXT pictures. Looking at him now...oof. He fell off a bit.

It'd be nice if he was closer to when he came into NXT, but he also wasn't eating on the road at the time, and that's not the easiest thing to do, going by Lance Storm's accounts of "some places, the best option is a McDonalds grilled chicken, just eat the chicken, throw the bun in the trash". Not a fun way to go.

His NXT debut look was so perfect for him. He wasn't fat, just burly. He looked like a fighter. Now he's fat. I hope he can get back there someday.

... Is it bad I know the picture on the right is Maggle the second I saw it? Also, I didn't realise how different he looked compared to his NXT look. Like, I don't really care about people's physiques etc, especially if they're good at what they do, but dude looks tonnes better in his debut.
