I had some thoughts on this, but I forgot them by the time I was done reading all the bickering and bitching.
This is why we can't have nice things.

How do you determine success?
I will throw out a name that will stun.
VIRGIL
Guy was a success in late 80s early 90s while only having to take a bump here and there. Went to WCW and took less bumps and the man was getting good money, for nothing.

God damn. We just can't have fun here can we? Forget the time frame, I'm just gonna list some possibles.
I'm trying to think of outside the box picks of guys who changed with the times. I feel like Owen really tried he just "couldn't grow that damn beard in!" His fiery kick ass period after the screw job could have gone better if he had a little more fire. Oh also if DX wasn't allowed to make him their bitch at every turn.
Jeff Jarrett really tried to change with the times. I'd say he did an okay job. Got rid of his flowing blonde hair and his pretty boy attire. Got a buzz cut and started slapping nuts or something.
This is an opposite but Bam Bam Bigelow was already there. Then he got to WCW and they made him wear regular clothes sometimes. The dude is covered in fire. He's as 1998 edgy as it got.
