they didn't do a good job of building him up for it right? Because I totally get that.
I'd say he's talented enough for the spot he is in. The guy has a unique look (he may look stupid, but he's a heel so that's fine) and he is more the capable of putting on a good to great match with most opponents you throw at him.I'd say he's talented enough for the spot he is in.Roman did a great job last night but Sheamus was pulling him through the first say 6-8 minutes it looked like to me while Roman kind of ramped up and got going.
Most people shit on the old Celtic Warrior. I just wanted to try to bring some positive to the big fella. If you want to shit on him here too though, go for it.

I like the guy, but his last few title reigns left a bad taste in my mouth especially his WHC where he faced Del Rio a million times and cut dumb, cheesy promos. But I think Sheamus will do fine with this one.

He's perfect as a midcard heel champion, the same as his current gimmick but in the midcard but as a main event face he's a joke. They've built him up to be some joke of a heel. He's not the asskicking main event heel that his look presents, he's just some idiot who has the title.

I dig Sheamus. What I don't dig is another heel champion (been roughly 2 years except for short Bryan/Cena reigns). To boot, it's *another* corperate stooge champion

Even without his poor booking, I've just never been a fan of the guy. He's been boring me for years. Once in a while he'll have a decent hoss off, against Cesaro etc. But in general the guy is not champ material in my opinion. On the mic and as a character he's just always been dull to me.

I'm kinda past the point of looking at "undeserving champions" constantly being at the top of the company as an option.
Like...if you've got eight or nine chances to beat this goober and you still can't, that makes you loser, right? How effective are you really as a babyface if you still can't beat this clown?

Sheamus should either be a doofus goofball or an ass kicking machine. He shouldn't be some weird middle ground or a Seth Rollins burger with extra mayo. Also, the prospect of him facing Daniel Bryan for the title at WM to conclude their past story arc would be worth it.

I've digged Sheamus for years. In ring, he always brings it.
I really enjoyed his violent brawl with Reigns last night. Sheamus, in ring, is highly under appreciated. He needs to talk less though.
I'm happy with him as WWE Champion.

I wouldnt mind a heel champ who's only out for themselves.

He's a great hand but as with all on the roster why would any one give a shit about him? He's just there.

I just don't think he deserves the spot.
...I'm sorry, I f***ing don't. I haven't seen a single great match he's had in this entire heel run (and there's been plenty of stinkers too), the only heat he gets is people chanting "YOU LOOK STUPID!" (other than that? Dead silence most of the time), he can't really talk, he's just...not all that good. At least, not to be pushed to the level that he is now.
He's got a unique look and I'm sure he's a good media person/spokesman. That alone should not be enough for you to get the world title. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but I've really soured on him during this run, both as a character and a performer. It's just frustrating that this like the 4th main event push they've tried with this dude and it never ever EVER works.

I don't like Sheamus in general. He had a streak of really good matches for a while as a face and can go, but not to the point where it offsets how crap he is at everything outside of matches. I thought I'd like him better as a heel, but now his matches aren't as good and the character is just as bad, if not worse. Even if he wasn't WWE champ, I wouldn't like him.

He's not world title material. He looks awful, he's boring on the mic, and his ring style is about as basic as it gets. He's a mid-card, power wrestler and that's about it.

I like Sheamus too. In my fave five on the main roster as far as overall talent/presence goes.

I'd legit like to hear your thoughts on his match last night with Roman. A lot of people (not you that I've noticed or me) are saying it was a great brawl. I think he was pulling a lot of the weight but most are touting Roman. I think they both did a good job. And even if he doesn't get the most heat, he at least gets it ya know? A lot of the guys get nothing anymore. And I'd take his heel heat over the anti-face heat Roman gets a lot. And Roman has had some really good matches this year, but if you plug in a lot of moderately talented power wrestlers in his slot, I think they would put out as good of a match. They may not have the sheer charisma as Roman just on sight though. I also think Sheamus' first (i think) run as WHC was fine. I could run a list of why his others were awful that aren't on him, but that's another story. I guess my point is I think he's at least on par with Roman in who's holding the title in my opinion. I know most diagree. I'd rather an Ambrose or Cesaro be given the shot, but I think Sheamus gets an unfair shake most of the time. That got too long winded. Sorry.

I actually like Sheamus. He's been terribly written for a while but I like the actual wrestler. His moves are believable and look punishing.
I'm a mark for fighting Irishmen like Finlay. Let Sheamus be a current, modified version of the original Finlay "Love to Fight" character and I'd be happy.
The 1-800-FELLA stuff? Nah, I'm good.

It's just how many times are they going to try and push Sheamus as a main eventer before they admit he will never be one. He's a 5 time world champion, a Royal Rumble winner, a king of the ring winner. They've put so much more effort into pushing a guy and he fails every time. It's just boring to see them go back and try every couple of years. It's the same with Del Rio. And I don't think he does get any heat outside of the you look stupid chants. When those chants it's mostly pretty quiet. I dunno, I get you like him and fair enough it's your opinion but I think the reason people don't like him is because he's a boring guy who never really connects with the Audience. Like you even admitted I think most fans would like to see the WWE put half the effort into pushing guys like Cesaro that they do for Sheamus.

Like you even admitted I think most fans would like to see the WWE put half the effort into pushing guys like Cesaro that they do for Sheamus. I think his lack of overness is exaggerated. He was getting some heat last night from a crowd that was sitting on their hands a bunch. I think if he's not booked like a goober for more than 2 weeks at a time he won't be as boring since it'll give people a reason to care. And I do like him but he's nowhere near my favorite. In a perfect world they'd be pushing the most talented guys that are over. But I guess a big part of my thinking is they're instead pushing Roman, who I don't think has anything that puts him over an Ambrose or Cesaro, yet people are bending over backwards to find positives to justify the mantle they're trying to give him. He's more of an untested property than Sheamus though so again, I can understand their view as well. I was just looking for why Sheamus seems to have such a bad perception. And if people are just bored of him and other guys that have been pushed up and down the cards for years, that makes total sense.
