Sort of, anyway. If this is in the wrong place, mods, you can move it anywhere you like if you offer free shipping.
So they sell out 10K seats for NXT in London and draw big crowds at every stop on the tour.
Same with regular WWE tours in the UK.
Heck, even TNA draws there.
There's no shortage of talent from that area of the world: Neville and Finn Balor and Paige and Sheamus and Barrett, not to mention plenty from earlier eras like Regal and Finlay and others that aren't coming to mind right now, I'm sure.
So why in the world, if it's so popular and there's a steady flow of homegrown talent to build around, is there no major televised promotion in the UK? I would think it would be a license to print money. Can anyone from that side of the Atlantic explain it to me?

We're still reeling from World of Sport being taken off the air nearly 30 years ago. It's a different TV landscape since then, and it won't be any of the top 5 stations who would pick one up. Insane Championship Wrestling seem the best placed, but they mostly have a over-18s product that wouldn't serve well in prime time.

But if there's a great demand -- and there clearly is -- and I gather WWE and even TNA have proven wrestling shows can get ratings, then why not?
And whether it gets TV or not to start with, are there promotions drawing big crowds (i.e. at least a few thousand)? With such a wrestling-starved populace, someone should be on the supply end with that kind of demand. And then TV outlets would surely want a piece of the action.
It's baffling.

Yeah, unfortunately we're currently seeing the BBC desperately trying to cut their programming budgets (especially sport) and the commercial channels are happy to continue making money from the gambling programs they run during the night.
Due to the high production costs, I think we have more chance of seeing a channel buy the rights to Ring of Honour or Lucha Underground before they get involved with British wrestling on tv.

How hard is it for any organisation to get on TV from scratch? It has that same low brow stigma here.
Hell, WWE's a huge company, they can't get a great deal with TV.
There's no one organised or big enough to do it. Progress might get there, but they're in a weird place where it's hard for them to expand any more despite selling out in minutes time after time.
