Those death matches really took their toll. That's why he became a referee. At this point, he's so fragile that the slightest touch causes him collapse.

TNA almost got it right with Pretty Boy Shane Sewell as the ref who fought back (then terrible feud with Davari), but someone somewhere needs to have a gimmick ref who is an ex-wrestler that doesn't get knocked out for 5 minutes after a stiff breeze.
But he doesn't need to be a death match ref who always gets physically involved, but rather a man who's past credentials are brought up as to explain why he's not Glass Joe levels of fragile.
Unless modern WWE is still under the impression that all refs are nameless, faceless and interchangeable.

I still hear ref names from time to time, and I agree that Drake should be that ONE ref no one messes with.
Besides, he got hit by Asuka and got up before the match was over - He's still got it!
