Haven't heard much about him ever since he got signed. Is he training at the performance centre nowadays?
Its weird that he has little to no hype aswell compared to guys like Owens and Balor despite being a great wrestler like them.

He probably hasn't gotten as much hype because as big as he is in lucha libre, he may not be well known in wrestling as a whole. He probably isn't as well known to the wrestling fanbase (not even the smarks) at large compared to Indy guys and puro guys.

NXT really has only ran the UK tour since he signed. Plus it does sound like La Sombra wants to focus on building up his english as well as training.

Throw in how badly Mistico bombed when he went to the main roster immediately (and how La Sombra unmasking before signing makes it clear he's trying to do the same things that helped Alberto Del Rio succeed in WWE to improve), and it's clear that it'd take a while for La Sombra in the performance center- to the point he may not even make it to NXT television before Takeover Dallas.

Good point about Del Rio. Sombra did say in an interview that he wants to reach heights that wrestlers such as Mysterio and ADR have in the WWE. Sombra vs ADR is gonna be something else.

Vince misheard his name as La Sombrero and is feverishly trying to get an over sized hat made before his debut

La Sombra is learning English and is taking his time to learn the WWE style of wrestling. Lucha libre is a totally different beast when it comes to wrestling. They approach things from the right side vs the left side done in North America. Bumps are more rolls than flat back. It is not as simple of a crossover as people like to think it is. Him and WWE are taking their time to get him ready instead of fast tracking him like Sin Cara Uno. Patience, padawan.

Knowing nothing about the guy, I'd like to ask what's imhis deal. Is he a babyface or heel predominantly? It's been said he used to wear a mask, but was it a mask that still allowed for some facial expressions? What do you all think his chances are of success?
