I actually found something not to long ago in the DFW area called VIP Wrestling. I know next to nothing about it but they seem to bring in some big names like Michael Elgin, Brian Cage and Johnny Gargano are scheduled for their next show in Feb. If I wasn't focusing everything on WM weekend, I'd be looking to catch some one of these. They run fun shows. We got invited out to film their Labor Day weekend show this year. Had people like Joey Ryan,Jessey Sorenson,Ray Rowe,Masada and ACH. Also no idea if you know this but currently Teddy Hart is living outside the DFW area. Met him at the Labor Day show. I know at least at that show if you want good seats pre-order them or get there real early. Are they still running the Knights of Columbus hall? Yeah, that is what is listed for the Feb. return. They sold out the first row for that show it seems. Prices don't seem too bad, at $25. Had no clue about Teddy, but given some of the people out this way it shouldn't shock me.

I have Phoenix Pro Wrestling, here in Petaluma, CA (if the name is confusing, it's because the venue they operate out of is called the Phoenix Theater). Some of our most notable wrestlers include: -Jeff Cobb {Spoiler}(he will be Matanza in Lucha Underground) -JR Kratos (participated in the World Title Tournament in Global Force Wrestling) -Virgil Flynn (looks to be one of GFW's main guys in the NexGen Division) -Adam Thornstowe (part of the Reno Scum, another GFW team, and NorCal mainstays) -Thunder Rosa {Spoiler}(will also appear in LU under a mask) Their website hasn't been updated in a while, but they mostly update their Facebook, where you can find clips and matches: link

Before it became strictly an Austin promotion, ACW was here mainly in San Antonio.
BOW (Branded Outlaw Wrestling) is a decent family friendly company. They have a few big names from time to time. Goldust (shortly before being rehired by WWE), Lashley Carlito, Tommy Dreamer, etc. Also doesn't hurt that I think it's partially run/backed by Funaki.
Only two I can think of worth mentioning...

I had no idea Teddy was living in TX. During intermission of the show I was going to get water for us and the photographer that rode out with us. Got it from the bar turn around and the manager that rode with us was talking to Teddy. Who was standing there with is cat Mr Money in his arms. I walked by got introduced to Teddy. Later on that day ended up talking to Teddy about bigfoot. The manager had told him how I live way out in the woods.Seems there is some patch of woods Teddy jogs thru each day "And I swear there is a bigfoot in there watching me." After having heard some real horror stories about meeting Teddy I was surprised at how nice he was. He split his time between sitting in the back row watching the matches and hanging out in the locker room.

There's NWA Atlanta, but I've always considered them to be a joke. Now if we're talking Pittsburgh, which I still consider my hometown even though I haven't actually lived there since 2008, there's seven. Going from the top and working down;
IWC - They are still the top promotion in town despite having a pretty terrible 2015. (Things are starting to look up, however.) Their roster is a mix of known names (namely, sigh, Tommy Dreamer these days), local guys and a few journeymen who work cheap (RJ City, Krimzon). Despite it all, their production values are great for a mid-level Indy. Facade, Zema Ion, Ray Rowe, Dalton Castle and Elias Sampson from NXT all made their names here first.
PWX - The old reliable. I mean that literally too - they first started in 1994. The roster is mainly local guys, with a few ringers from Cleveland and Afa's WXW in Allentown to round things out. The ever advancing age of their main eventers is a huge issue, as is their lack of regional stars. The only real known names around these days are Matthew Justice, Cassidy Stone (he made it to the first episode of Tough Enough) and former Headshrinker/head booker Samu's son Lance. They have a local TV show, but it's borderline unwatchable because of the awful production values.
RWA - RWA tends to rely on a combination of 90s legacy acts (Cueball Carmichael, Jimmy Cicero, Tracy Smothers), known names who have burnt their bridges with IWC (namely Davey Richards) and local guys who can't get booked elsewhere. Their founder/owner/booker/on-screen manager, Dr. Feelbad, has a reputation for being a polarizing individual, which makes securing name talent difficult. On the plus side, they use the same production company as IWC, so at least it looks good.
VOW - Western Pennsylvania's CZW, only without the roster, fan following and go-to location in Delaware to hold deathmatches. (They go to West Virginia instead.) The names they do have can't get booked elsewhere for whatever reason (Matt Tremont, Chance Prophet, Masada) or are "borrowed" from the other promotions (Jason Gory, Facade, new crowned IWC champion Jimmy Nutts). Their production values aren't great, but are still better than PWX.
VWF - The promotion started specifically to spite Dr. Feelbad. I'm serious. Their owner had a nasty falling out with him, so he set up a competing company across town. Their talent, presence and fan base are basically nonexistent at this point. They don't tape anything.
KSWA - They were once considered to be Pittsburgh's merry band of screw ups... Until CBS affiliate KDKA and the freaking Wall Street Journal ran pieces on them. They used their newfound notoriety to reposition their product as the East Coast answer to Hoodslam. It is, was and always shall be terrible.
CRW - Run by local workers Fleck and Sarah Feeney, known collectively as FnF. Fleck has a horrible reputation as both a performer and a human being, so getting anyone of note is impossible. They can barely keep their heads above water at this point.

Sacramento Wrestling Federation (SWF). The biggest name we've ever had was Shinsuke Nakamura, who had his first international IC title defense (and first IC title defense, period) here but we actually have a lot of guys pass through here like Rocky Romero and someone who I'm sure will blow up due to LU season 2, Jeff Cobb.

I'll give a shoutout to Finest City Wrestling here in San Diego. They recently did a free show, asking for you donations for kids in Mexico. They've had Brian Cage, Paul London, Joey Ryan, and TheYoung Bucks this year. Pretty solid shows as well. Woah I need to check that out, just recently moved to La Jolla from Denver and would love to see some notable names!

NGW (New Generation Wrestling) based out my home city of Hull (most romantic city name ever), very strong fed in my opinion, they even have a training academy ran by El Ligero and had plenty of guest trainers in the past such as Finlay and Dave Taylor.

Yeah, I think APW still runs shows out of Hayward, CA near by.
And this promotion called Gold Rush Pro rus shows in Pacifica.
And that one fed..., they're like a backyard fed, but actually rent a venue - Hoodslam - oof that took me way too long to remember.
Gold Rush Pro had a decent women's tournament a few months ago that was pretty fun, but beyond that...eh. Same for APW, just your typical NorCal wrestling hokey stuff.
hoodslam markets themselves as super edgy and cool but everything I've seen of it is just lazy drug-parody characters and so-so wrestling.

River City Wrestling is pretty fun. Hernandez is featured pretty regularly there. Also of note is TWA, although it's really more of a school than a promotion. They are usually the go-to of someone wants to put on a charity even wrestling show.

The owner told me to meet him there before the show. He introduced himself and disappeared. He emailed me an apology and said his trainer would get a hold of me. I actually emailed the trainer several times and never heard anything.

Sacramento also has a fed called Supreme Pro Wrestling (SPW); is yours different from that? Phoenix Pro Wrestling originally started as an offshoot of them.
Gold Rush co-promoted a show with PPW up here in Petaluma. Boyce LaGrande has defended the Dynamite Title on that show and one other against our guys. Jeff Cobb was also set to feud with Gold Rush's Synn due to their confrontation in a Fatal 4-Way, so hopefully we'll see some more cross-promotion with them.
There was also Wrestling for Charity in the South Bay, though they may be moving more into the Central Valley due to the promoter moving down there. Their stuff is alright (they ran a few shows up here); Gangrel is a regular for them.
Is Big Time Wrestling in Newark still a thing?
If you get a shot, come up to the North Bay and check out PPW. The presentation is really good, as far as dressing up the ring, entrance area, etc., it's a lot more effort than what 90% of the other promotions out there do (Gold Rush, from what I've seen of them on Youtube, also does a good job there). You'll probably recognize a lot of the faces from the Bay Area/Norcal scene, and the main guys are really good, though we just lost our top heel in Bobby Hart, who vacated the title and left for "personal reasons".

PROGRESS Wrestling. You may have heard of it.
There's also IPW:UK (International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom) that runs in Kent and brings in some international names, and Revolution Pro Wrestling who run three or four big shows a year in London with New Japan talent and other big names.

I'm guessing you have met him i only met Jimmy once didn't really have any trouble with him but does the name Larry Huntley Mean anything to you? Boy does it! I became a wrestling fan in late '99 but didn't go to my first live show until 2001 as I for some reason thought it was impossible. When I found out there was wrestling in my area (Eastern Wrestling Alliance) I flipped my shit. My brother and I went to 6 shows in 11 months in 2002/3 and "The Enforcer" Larry Huntley was a big part of the presentation of the EWA. Fast forward to 2013 and my buddies and I started our own promotion which fizzled out after the fun got sucked out of it by a certain family entertainment group. But, before that, a bunch of us went to a show promoted by Larry and even helped him take down the ring and I got to sit in his house after we unloaded everything and listen to him tell stories. He seemed beyond bullshit to be which was nice to see but I highly doubt his hands are clean. He never did me any harm though. I'd love to hear your take on him.
