I'm guessing you have met him i only met Jimmy once didn't really have any trouble with him but does the name Larry Huntley Mean anything to you? Boy does it! I became a wrestling fan in late '99 but didn't go to my first live show until 2001 as I for some reason thought it was impossible. When I found out there was wrestling in my area (Eastern Wrestling Alliance) I flipped my shit. My brother and I went to 6 shows in 11 months in 2002/3 and "The Enforcer" Larry Huntley was a big part of the presentation of the EWA. Fast forward to 2013 and my buddies and I started our own promotion which fizzled out after the fun got sucked out of it by a certain family entertainment group. But, before that, a bunch of us went to a show promoted by Larry and even helped him take down the ring and I got to sit in his house after we unloaded everything and listen to him tell stories. He seemed beyond bullshit to be which was nice to see but I highly doubt his hands are clean. He never did me any harm though. I'd love to hear your take on him. He was my would be trainer for a few months Dude was nice and cool but soured me on wrestling completely first thing he wanted to teach us was that no matter what it's always about making money and just his general feelings on how wrestling should be really killed all my interest in learning it was very much WWE is always right and wanting to go to Mexico or Japan is always stupid other than wrestling talk though i thought he was a stand up guy. And now i gotta ask did you deal with Sonny Roselli at all because he was another pretty great dude in my opinion.

The local fed for me is Taiwan Extreme Pro Wrestling. www.facebook.com/TEPWofficial/?fref=ts Just got home from their last event of the year actually. The final of their "Last Man" tournament. They tend to have a show every 2 weeks. There's some good workers there. The standouts for me are... Orange who reminds me a lot of Owens, a short, chubby brawler with a lot of athleticism and a hard-hitting style. He's probably the best wrestler in the fed. Belial who looks an absolute monster and has great presence and charisma. He's the most popular wrestler there and he's got a big star feel about him. He won the Last Man tournament. Kaixa Zheng who is a rookie but looks a great talent. Very crisp already, a good douchebag heel and a good moveset. I like him, he's one of my favs.

Wildkat Sports run by Luke Hawx is the only thing running in Louisiana these days. Might have to check out their next show. Had a buddy just tell me about them. Said their shows are solid.

If you are in Southern LA there is also Voodoo Wrestling who runs Westwego and then NWA Elite that runs Houma.Wildkat can have great shows, but have been relying too much recently on bringing in names. And they lost a handful of their better talent.

I've been going sporadically to Magnum Pro Wrestling in Omaha, Nebraska for the past year (I live near Lincoln). They do shows every 3-4 weeks at the Sokol Auditorium and do get pretty decent attendance. I appreciate that they try to aim for a family crowd (with almost every show getting over by 10pm) but then have a faces swearing and using homophobic slurs, and while I'm one of the foulest mouth people out there I don't think that's a great idea.
Ultimately, I'm not a regular because of my old local indy spoiled me, see I lived in North Hollywood, just a short drive to Reseda and my local indy was PWG.

There's 3 or 4 operating out here. New York Wrestling Connection, alma mater to Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, and Trent Baretta (I hope to get back to training sometime in 2016), Fight The World Wrestling, Suffolk Wrestling Alliance, and Victory Pro Wrestling. Yeah, Long Island has quite a few indy's one of my friends works for Victory Pro. New York in general has a few not many in the city though

In NE Wisconsin, we have Under The Lights Entertainment, which also does DJ work from what I hear. They have a school. Silas Young is part of the roster and shows up when he's not doing ROH shows.

Very local micro-indy. FLBR. Most famous alumni is LuFisto, she nominally started there... lots of wrestlers have a REAL starting place and then the place where they are known to have started. I once told the story about how LuFisto started wrestling with a bunch of guys in her high school with her mom being the fed's nurse? Well that is that promotion. They still run, they're what I call a goodwill promotion. You give some food for the poor (and in the holidays, toys for kids) to enter and most of the guys work for free. They're comedy mostly, guys that have been wrestling each other for 20 years can't stay serious that long! Production value is THROUGH THE ROOF, as you can see.
After the whole FLI exodus happened, a friend of mine who was the promoter of it back then approached me to work there, he wanted me to be a cowboy character, just for fun, I would have done it for pizza, which is a step up from being paid in porn, which is a step up from being paid nothing. I liked it, I would have ripped off Stan Hansen's promos so bad... But it didn't happen, I was ashamed of my physical condition and didn't go for it. But if I could drop that 30-40 pounds I need to drop, I'd love to do something with FLBR. They're my home town fed.
This promo is in French, but you don't need words to judge an Indian character saying he just got done hunting his diner and then proceeding to tomahawk a box of take-out rotisserie chicken to "finish it" as somebody does chicken noises. John Cheyenne.
About Rougeau. I found ONE Rougeau match on Youtube. Filmed with a potato from the stands, probably by somebody related to one of the guys in the ring, from 2010, this was a midcard match between guys that probably shouldn't have worked in front of people yet, but talent exodus no. 2 being a thing that very same year, talent was in short supply. Prince Ahmed is now wrestling the regular Montreal circuit under another name, but the other two are still with Rougeau and Bazooka Joe is developping to be decent.

Here in my area of Florida we have at least 3: ACW acwflorida.com/Only been to one of their shows, but they run constantly. Had some good cruiserweights iirc Uproar (Jay Lethal's students wrestle here) www.uproarprowrestling.com/These are fun to go too, usually the same venue so you see the same fans. They do a decent job of getting former WWE and TNA guys. Saw D-Von there, his kids wrestled a nice match. Most over guy is Torcher, a big guy with a bright red mohawk who spits fire. Full Impact Pro www.fullimpactpro.com/Our biggest company, lots of good indy talent makes its way through here. They put on the best shows, but they also travel to further places and have the more experienced wrestlers. My favourite match I've seen here was Maxwell Chicago trying to have dinner with Jessica Havok. I have them listed from worst to best, but if I'm free they're all live wrestling so they're all fun and I'd check them out.

Doesn't FIP run the same venue as Shine and Evolve? Isn't there something called "I Believe In Wrestling" in the area as well?

NEWF. No clue if they still run shows or not but they got a ton of good guys there and had some nice shows. Even got guys from CHIKARA Pro like Dasher, Donst, AssailANT/Worker Ant, Frightmare, Kobald, The Batiri, etc. And even The FBI, Blue Meanie, Steve Corino and more
They also had a tag team called The Ghostbusters. I cannot make this up.
I commentated a ton of their matches in 2013 with Dave Adams who now does PWS if I'm not mistaken, this was probably one of my favorite matches to call between "Unbreakable" Andy Harner and Tony Deppen, those two guys about killed themselves in this match at the Clothesline Autism Charity Event that year. Nothing but respect for that.

Evolve and Shine do run there, its called The Orphium. But I don't know if they're considered the "home" for the fed like FIP is. Someone more up-to-date on Shine would know better than me. IBIW seems to be more in central Florida, but I'm sure they do run on the coast and I've just missed them. I haven't gotten to go out to many shows in the past year.

I know there a few that operate in the southeast Texas area but the biggest has got to be Booker Ts Reality of Wrestling (ROW). Kind of a lame name but they have a pretty fantastic roster and Booker definetly uses his superstar status to bring in some serious guests like Bret Hart and RVD. The Harlem Heat reunion from earlier this year was great. It's all on YouTube if anyone wants to check it out. TASW (Texas All-Star Wrestling) was my go to indy for awhile but I haven't heard of them doing much lately. Looking at their website I can see why, all of there best guys either work for Booker now or Anarchy. There was also a NWA Houston based out of Northwest Houston but i haven't a clue if they're still around.

There's one near Albany, In Your Face Wrestling. If there was a league primarily made of trashbag wrestlers, it'd be this. My friends would go to it mostly just to not so subtly bag on the guys. Among the highlights: -"The Millenium Millionaire" Scott Scarsdale, a neckbeard fat, balding guy who's gimmick is that he's rich. Everything he has, from his shirts, to his website, to his singlet, is as low rent as it gets. What's amazing is that we actually saw him in the crowd at Wrestlemania 31 in a panning shot. So, he's been to Wrestlemania, and I haven't. :/ -A guy who I dubbed "Syphillitic Bret Hart", because he wears pink and black and who's back looks diseased. I despised this guy. -A guy we dubbed "The Lacksadasical Irishman", because his gimmick was that he was irish and he looked constantly bored in the ring. Alternate name: Sheameh. He also won a belt that was, I shit you not, just a leather belt strap with a medallion painted on it. -Good Lord Willing, an actually hilarious if one note gimmick which was a wrestling British fop. Catchphrase: "Shutcher mouth", repeated over and over.
Really amazing in it's mediocrity. I did see one guy who was pretty good, did a lot of flippy moves, think it was his first match because his wrestling gear was a Body Glove wetsuit. What's strange is, these guys actually got some real indy talent. I got to see Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Fish, Nunzio, and some other guys come through there.
