Looking back at 2015's Predictions...

Since it's the end of the year and 2016's prediction thread is up...this was great last year, so...

2015 Predictions

And to start off mocking the predictions, my own to laugh at...

LAYUPS:
-Solomon Crowe will be released without an NXT debut. (He was released, but did make an NXT debut.)
-John Cena will win his 16th World Championship, in preparation for a Wrestlemania 32 record-breaking title reign. (He did not hold the World Title in 2015 and only fought for it once.
-CM Punk will win his first UFC fight. (He did not fight, period.
-Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2015. SUCCESS!...but that's why I called them layups- anyone could see it coming.
-Dean Ambrose will turn heel. Wrong, but probably for the best.
-Sami Zayn will NOT hold a WWE title in 2015. (He did not due to injury, but still didn't- SUCCESS!)
-Hunico will be released (see below). (He's still around, and the Lucha Dragons may be getting a push, if not just Kalisto. Still.)

CURVEBALLS:

-Brock Lesnar will not fight in a UFC match in 2015. Jack Swagger will. (I was half-right, Lesnar didn't go back to UFC. I choose to think of that half.
-Cesaro will win the TNA World Championship. (He stuck around in WWE, and may or may not be on the verge.
-One of the Bella Twins will enter the 2015 Royal Rumble. (Wrong on all counts.
-Adrian Neville will get promoted to the WWE roster- as the third Sin Cara. (Happy to be wrong here.

HOT TAKES:

-Devin Taylor will hold the WWE Divas' Championship before Charlotte, Sasha Banks, or Bayley do. (Couldn't be more wrong- Devin Taylor was fired after Charlotte won the Divas' Title.
-By the end of 2015, the WWE Network will be part of Hulu Plus. Considering WWE Network's apparently a success, that's a good thing I was wrong.
-Damien Mizdow will turn face...but will also be released following the face turn bombing. (I called he'd turn face, I called the face turn would go nowhere...for one of the really hot take predictions, two out of three ain't bad...

-Big show turns a minimum of 4 times and cries at some point who can keep track of that?
-Jericho continues to show up every so often yep
-Kane retires and eventually becomes one of the legends that gets dragged out when needed nope
-Christian retires yes?
-Mark Henry retires no
-Orton does not hold the WHC during the year Yes
-Barrett wins MITB, repeatedly shows up when the champ is in trouble only to tell people he's got some bad news for them and not cash in nope
-At least one permanent change in the commentary team yes
-Miz vs Mizdow at Wrestlemania no
-Undertaker does not have a match at Wrestlemania, shows up at the end of the Sting / HHH match to challenge Sting for Survivor Series where he retires not even close
-The Ascension are initially over but quickly drop into obscurity I got the dropping into obscurity part right
-Reigns has a short WHC run, Rollins has a longer run Technically correct
-J&J Security get a tag title match They had a Raw main event or two
-Xavier Woods released, Big E and Kofi continue as a tag team Thankfully not
-The Network gets multiple UK release dates with each delay getting closer to launch time no
-William Regal will be a manager for somebody on the main roster no

Adam Rose, Titus, Curtis Axel, Justin Gabriel, Matadors + Torito, Emma and Fandango all released one out of many

NXT Call ups
Adrian Neville - Doesn't do anything of interest. yes
Zayn - IC title run no
Kalisto & Sin Cara - Tag Champs & feud with Cesaro & Kidd They got a call up
Charlotte - Long Divas title reign  have to see how long the reign lasts
Baron Corbin - Becomes the new Ryback no

This leads to a bigger push of Bray as a dangerous threat, possibly making him the focal point of the "big summer angle" for 2015. Alternatively, the growing threat of Wyatt could be the catalyst for Cena to bring The Authority back, to help deal with a bigger threat to the company. (Wyatt loses to Taker, the big angle never happens, and he and his Family are just circling the wagons.)

- Cena is the one who stops Rusev at WM31. (Cena won LOL.)

- Cesaro finally turns face and is given a considerable push that comes in late 2015. (He turned face and got a modest push before injury sidelined him for late 2015.)

- Daniel Bryan doesn't return in time for the Royal Rumble, but will come after SummerSlam, perhaps as the returning hero who stops Bray's reign of terror.

- Sheamus will be a Paul Heyman Guy. (Nope.)

- Sami Zayn debuts sometime during the year and becomes a big deal, fairly quick. (He hasn't debuted, but did appear as an opponent of John Cena in the US Title Open Challenge.)

- Either Big Show, Kane, or Goldust retires from the ring. (Neither of the three have retired, though Big Show is just inactive.)

- Kevin Owens beats Sami Zayn for the NXT title and goes on a lengthy reign as an unstoppable heel champion. His title run is stopped by a new surprise signing in early 2016. (His run didn't last that long, but he did lose the title to a surprise signing in the form of one Finn Balor.)

- We'll get a litany of releases mid-year, with some surprising names included amongst the fallen. (Maddox, Crowe were released, but hardly a "litany".)

- Divas matches will still be of poor quality compared to NXT women's matches. (That Divas Revolution sure went somewhere, didn't? )

Both Bellas are tried to be made into lovable faces and fail miserably. 3/12?

Alicia Fox turns 18 times over the course of the year but said turns are never mmentioned by anyone except on these boards. 3/13

Rosa mendez is repackaged for the tenth time trying to make someone care. 3/14

Bayley debuts as a crazed stalker of AJ. 3/15

Orton lingers around the main event but doesn;t get a WWE title shot all year 3/16

Ambrose gets put in the undertaker role of facing all the new deranged/crazed wrestler gimmicks that arrive to stay out of the title picture 3/17

Balor and Itami both debut bwteenn Wrestlemania and summerslam- one happening the RAW after WM 3/18

Vaudevillians debut during the summer but end up being faces due to the crowd liking their antics 3/19

Daniel Bryan returns to the ring after WrestleMania 3/20

CM Punk retires from the UFC after his second match. 3/21- ok technically he hasn't had his scond match yet but still.

Cena continues to win the majority of his feuds handily while not making his opponnent look good in defeat, splits the fan base, makes bad jokes 4/22

Ziggler is turned heel because he becomes too popular and isn't one of the annointed two. 4/23

cena suffers a serious injury that is career threatening- returns three weeks later after RAW has a low rating and vince panics. 4/24

Shane-o-mac returns to feud with steph/HHH and has a match with HHH- falls from something high during the match. 4/25
