Well around two years ago we were seriously looking at Orton/Batista as our Mania main event. I don't think it could be much worse than that. To this day I still can't believe they genuinely thought Orton vs. Batista was an appropriate main event for the 30th WrestleMania.

Eh, if Roman goes over, I guess it'll do.
And by go over I don't mean "plays the ultimate underdog for the whole programme and WWE acts shocked he actually managed to beat the greatest superstar of all time". I mean more "punches HHH into orbit while Ronda Rousey smears his wifes face on the outside floor and the two aren't heard of again".

Dean should win the Rumble and have an IC champ vs WWE champ where he and Roman beat the crap out of each other. No turning on the other, just a knock down drag out contest that emphasizes how important the WWE title is to them. To me logically this is what should happen. I was talking with a friend yesterday about the RR and he asked who should win and I said "Ambrose" and then laid out the reasons why. It's a perfect feud to build to on the road to WM. The crowd is invested, they'd be into the match, they have chemistry, and a long history together. It's made for a WM main event. Like you said don't have them turn, stay 'brothers' but realize this is all about business, and then go to war.

f*** Triple H. The insistence on having him put his stamp on every single WWE champion by putting them over is utterly appalling. It's this kind of lazy, shit booking that's sending WWE down the shitter. If you want Reigns to get over, leave him the f*** alone. Jesus H. Roosevelt Kennedy Christ. WWE needs to stop reminding us at every f***ing turn that champions made so at the pleasure of the Authority and, by extension, the WWE board of directors. Can Paul Levesque please stick to a f***ing role? He does not add value or legitimacy to a championship reign by doing this; if anything, he takes it away by reminding us that The Authority is a presence. It interferes with the fans' suspension of disbelief to such a point that many fans just lose their engagement in the moment the minute any member of the McMahon family shows up. Just, no.

Only guys I'd want HHH ahead of to win are Big Show and Kane. I'd a million times take Cena over HHH and I'd take anybody but those 3 over Cena.
Ambrose, Bryan if he's healthy, Lesnar, those 3 make the most sense. Lesnar & Bryan never lost the belt, Ambrose makes for an obvious personal story.
This also reminds me that of the last 4 WWE Champions, 3 never got beat for the title. I think the IC curse has moved.

I'd rather it be HHH than Cena (Or anyone but Cena really) but with that being said that sounds like yet another Rumble Result that will have the whole Arena booing WWE out of the place... And rightfully so. If that happens, I'm finally free. The Rumble is the last chance I'm giving WWE and if they blow it again this time there's no point in wasting time and bandwidth anymore.

No beef with it, Trips is a great wrestler and the match up is a fresh one.

I'm totally ok with HHH winning the Rumble and going to Wrestlemania against Roman. Why?
Because unlike Steph, HHH has learned a little something from Vince. You gotta be willing to get your ass beat/embarrassed in the end. He'll put Roman over like a god at Wrestlemania.
Now I hope it gets to the final 4 in the Rumble and HHH says to the remaining three "Tell you what, I'll double your salaries and give you all a match at Wrestlemania if you jump over the rope and eliminate yourself". One guy says NO and stands up to HHH. HHH quickly tells the other two ," I'll make it triple if you toss this asshole". Writes itself.

I typically hate the "it's great when awful things happen because peopel freak out about" reaction.
But HHH winning the rumble? With a crowd already suspicious after the last two years? I mean, christ, I guess they're just running with the yearly tradition of a trainwreck.

You know at ONS II there was a sign of If Cena Wins We Riot? Well that's what's going to happen if HHH inserts himself into it and wins.
It doesn't matter how many legends shill him and give him verbal BJs, how many times he has history revisioned to make him look good like with his precious DX Tank, he's never going to be considered part of the echelon of the Greats in wrestling. At best, he's a B+ player.

If HHH wins the Rumble and then loses at WM, it's fine. He should lose at WM since Roman is the next big thing in their eyes. If he loses, then it essentially kills everything they've been building.

Because we've seen how the Authority flips alignments and stuff, wanting to be the big bad but also be cool and "get it". I feel there's a chance Triple H takes the right digs at Reigns to get himself cheered and bring back Reigns' boo-birds. Under the guise of "well I'm firing my best stuff, you better be able to handle it if you're ready for this spot", when that's a completely lopsided scenario given Triple H's experience, status in the company, status within the fanbase, and the fact that he wrestled and got over in an era where wrestlers had to actually think for themselves.

I'd rather Roman have 2 matches at Mania - first one against HHH - then defend the title against the rumble winner

Considering how often we basically get three PPVs with the same match in a row, I don't think this being the main event of Survivor Series should be held against it. Don't have them wrestle again until WM and it will be gold.

It's gotten to the point that the only two WWE shows I watch in their entirety now are Wrestlemania and the Royal Rumble. Mania because it's Mania, and the Rumble because I can't wait to see the crowd's reaction to the next year's incompetent dumpster fire.

For me that would be a massive lack of faith in newer talent or drive to establish newer talent and I will tap out of the WWE for a few years.
Thats my breaking point right there.

Outside of beating Sting (and needing a sledgehammer to do it), has Triple H even won a match in the last 3 or 4 years? The match would have practically zero suspense.

I'm worried too. I really feel like this upcoming Rumble is key for me and if I'm not happy about the winner, I think I may be done for a while. The first time in my whole life I will no longer want to watch WWE.
