Basically it goes like this:
A woman feels bad for her co-worker she assumes is single so she sets him up on a date with someone he ends up having sex with. Another co-worker asks her what the hell she was thinking because that dude is married. She confronts the first guy and the guy acts like it's no big deal and assumed she knew he was married and was just helping him get sex.
It's probably from something really popular, but I'm drawing a blank.

I think something similar happened on Friends. If I recall Rachel got a girl to have sex with Ross and pretended like it was no big deal.
Also, F that show, Rachel an almost 10 has a thing for dingbat no personality Ross

Would help if you narrowed it down to the type of sitcom. Was it a multi-camera show with an audience like Friends? Or was it a single-camera setup like Happy Endings or New Girl?
Guess: How I Met Your Mother?

Guess: How I Met Your Mother? No idea really, but I'm thinking it was single camera without an audience. It seems like something I could see on Veep or In the Thick of It, but I don't think it was either of those.

Yeah, crap. This does sound familiar.
Maybe Seinfeld? Sounds like something that would happen to Elaine?

Part of it sounds like that old Comedy Central show That's My Bush. YES! That's it! I'm pretty sure it was Laura Bush and Karl Rove as the main two characters in that plot. I haven't watched it in over a decade though hence the foggy memory!
