So, I know the winner get's a title match but are contracts involved at all? There always seems to be a bunch of new guys that come in but then you have certain cases (Will Ferrara, Colby Corino) where guys in the tournament had already been regularly appearing on ROH tv. So, what is the deal exactly?

The winner, in storyline, gets a TV title shot and a one year contract. This started with Taven, who defeated Cole to win his. The next year, Hanson lost to Ciampa, and last year, Dijak decided to join the HoT instead of facing Lethal for his title.
Since the beginning, it's been a mix of roster guys and new guys debuting/guys who've made a couple appearances. I don't know what the deal is there, as it's a little vague.

A one year contract? But... Like I said, some of these guys have already worked there before. I understand...

It is basically to introduce potential prospects to the fanbase and get over the chosen person with the crowd during it. ROH already has in mind who is getting used and hope for some diamonds in the rough breaking out like Dalton Castle did last year.

Basically, the take all the guys in the CHL and split them into two teams, one is coached by Bpbby Orr and the other is by Don Cherry. Orr and Grapes usually have, like a $50 on the game. It's just for fun for the kids to play together.
