Just got back from that show - AJ definitely meant that more as a tease than outright confirmation. Great sendoff for him tonight, and he put Zack Sabre Jr. over super strong.

If Styles actually comes out during the Rumble match I'd mark so hard Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch would get residuals.

They need to do a ring-breaking spot (Lesnar/Show style) with AJ hitting a middle-rope Styles Clash to Braun Strowman.

And if it's 2 on 1, Finn comes in next. Or if it's a 4 on 1, Gallows comes in next, then MGKA, then Finn. War Games match at the PPV after, please.

all this cockteasing needs to stop...only 7 days to go... I still find it super strange how WWE embraced the rumours. There can't NOT be something to it, right?

Looks pretty certain it's happening this Sunday... {Spoiler}MAJOR WWE SPOILER (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) by Mike Johnson @ 3:13 PM on 1/20/2016 Former NWA, TNA and IWGP Heavyweight champion AJ Styles will begin his tenure with WWE this coming week, PWInsider.com has confirmed. Styles is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble this Sunday in Orlando, Florida as well as this week's Raw and Smackdown tapings in Miami and Tampa, respectively. Styles teased his debut over the weekend in the UK, noting on the mic at a RevPro event that should a Rumble match slot be "open for him", he would take it. Whether he debuts at the Rumble PPV (and how he debuts) remains to be seen, but AJ Styles will be making his WWE debut very soon. As previously reported on PWInsider.com, TNA made a heavy play to bring Styles, one of their original stars, back to the fold with a big money offer said to be 3-4 years in length, but in the end, Styles opted to sign with WWE. Styles, 38, first came to prominence as an early standout in the first year of Ring of Honor before cementing himself nationally as one of the cornerstone stars of TNA's X-Division when that company was founded in 2002. He rose to World title main event status as well as becoming the star most associated with the TNA brand. Styles departed TNA at the end of 2013 when he turned down a reduced contract from the company during a time when they were cost-cutting at all levels. Styles immediately returned to ROH and debuted as a regular for New Japan Pro Wrestling as a member of the Bullet Club, putting together an incredible string of in-ring performances in each company. In New Japan, he won the IWGP Heavyweight championship almost immediately and had two runs with the belt. He finished up with New Japan on 1/4 and this Saturday, will make a signing appearance that will double as his farewell appearance in ROH in Duluth, GA. For tickets to that event, visit www.ROHWrestling.com.

Well while we're talking about the possibility, here's my idea for booking AJ in the Rumble.
Have Reigns come out at number one... and then at number two out comes... AJ Styles. The announcers put it over as they have no idea what's going on. Maybe even one of them mentions that this guy will probably be thrown out pretty quick.
Have AJ come in with an ironman performance, lasting until at least the final four with the commentators putting him over like a million bucks. Have him hang with everybody from Big Show to Lesnar to obviously Reigns, of course. Maybe even have him eliminate a few guys throughout, the Social Outcasts or somebody of that ilk. Then when he does eventually get eliminated make sure it's a guy who he can immediately start a feud with. For example... maybe he eliminates Chris Jericho. And then Jericho, perhaps turning heel in the process, causes AJ to get eliminated. That way you set up a potential match between the two, perhaps even setting something up for Wrestlemania.
And there you go. You may not have made the guy in one night, but you've definitely made people take notice. Definitely better then having him come in and being just another guy in the match.

I hope he wins a title and holds it for exactly 295 days.

I hope after a brief flurry of offence he gets tossed out with ease by the Big Show while JBL shouts "WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES KID"`

If he doesn't show up at the Rumble, will people be mad at WWE for not delivering something they didn't advertise?

Dream booking: AJ Styles enters the Rumble early, like #2. Samoa Joe enters at #5. Brock Lesnar enters at #14 or 15.
AJ puts on an ironman show, Joe decimates fools (early on he only fails to eliminate AJ), Brock enters and gets right into an enormous brawl with Joe, and near the end of the Rumble AJ sneaks up on the two behemoths and eliminates them both by surprise, ala Austin dumping out Vader and Undertaker at the '97 Rumble.
Then, yeah, I'd be down for AJ and Bullet Club taking on the Wyatts. Bliz Cliz/Family War Games and Joe vs. Brock at 'Mania.
Oh, and somehow Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura main event the show for the world title, even if neither man is in the Rumble. They just appear and say "move over, shitlords".
WWE, I eagerly await my royalties check when you see how I have saved your company from certain fiscal and creative doom.
...
...
...
I'd better make a sandwich while I wait.
