As an on-screen presence, Stephanie.

I don't know if Vince/Dunn SHOULD go. Are HHH/Stephanie really the answer? I don't think so. Until they have right successors in charge Vince/Dunn should stay on. I don't think the shareholders are too giddy on HHH/Stephanie taking over either. HHH can't run WWE like Vince did. He just doesn't have the vision and business acumen of Vince. At least not to appeal to the masses like Vince did in the 80s and 90s. Stephanie is just a useless waste of space. Both on and off camera. Totally clueless on the creative side, and an annoying on screen character channel turner From what's been reported, Trips and Steph already know who they want to replace Dunn. I wouldn't be surprised if they want Big Johnny to replace Dunn. He was the one who produced Beast in the East, and that got a shitload of praise, not just for what happened in the ring, but for the production which included little touches like the flower girls. So I'd say that they want him to take Dunn's spot.

What does Hayes do? Dunn, production, Lawler, announcing we know. Agents you have Road dog, Malenko, Finley, J&J I'm sure Heyman helps out too. The writing staff are hired for their writing experience and the trainers are all down in Florida, don't think I've missed anything so what role does Hayes have?

Totally clueless on the creative side, and an annoying on screen character channel turner This is actually why I'm more behind HHH after seeing his NXT role. No he may not know what it takes to appeal to the masses like Vince used to. The thing is he KNOWS it. Whereas Vince still holds an iron grip and won't realise when he's out of touch, HHH knows he needs help so he put guys like Dusty, Regal etc. into roles and let them get on with it as long as they were doing well. Even with gimmick, we've literally say he doesn't understand why some things are over, like Blue Pants, but he goes with the audience and doesn't kill it just to spite them. TBH I think NXT has a broader appeal than WWE anyway. You have stuff for kids, men and women, teenagers, most demographics. How that applies to the main roster if/when he takes over remains to be seen, but he's being a good boss and putting on a good product. And as WCW and TNA have shown, if you bring in outsiders, that tends to go badly.

If I was a wrestler in developmental I'd be pretty confident that the likes of Regal, Brookside, Amato, Alberts etc would give me a fair assessment based on my ability and general attitude. Even on the main roster I'd believe Vince (and Dunn?) would make judgements based on how much money they see in me.
However I'd be f***ing terrified if Michael Hayes held any sway over my career as his opinions seem completely arbitrary and are often proven wrong. He gives me the impression of a middle manager in a bloated company who knows they're slightly superfluous and as a result is constantly trying to justify their position.
Although to be fair this judgement is based on internet dirt sheets and WWE produced backstage stuff/interviews that may be semi-staged*, even if people's perception of him is true it can still be good to have somebody to play devil's advocate.
*IIRC it was that ESPN NXT documentary where Hayes was saying Xavier Woods would have to step his game up soon or be released and I don't think the momentarily look on HHH's face after that nugget of wisdom could be staged because he ain't that good of an actor.
