I feel like I've seen this exact joke done a million times in the past 6 months.

Appropriate it has the main theme from Scarface, considering how much coke the writers have snorted the past decade and a half or so.

All I can think while watching this is "was Miami Vice still on the air when The Simpsons started?".
After a quick Wikipedia search I've discovered the answer is... sorta... but not really.
You know what, I'm just gonna fall back onto my default response to all Simpsons threads - the show needs to end.

I'm just waiting for the couch gag to be a parody of the couch gag. Family runs in, something stupid happens, Homer gets the brunt of the wackiness at the very end before it cuts to their TV screen.

There was some great attention to detail in that. Kept pausing so I wouldn't miss anything. Mr Burns looks horrifying and Krusty got a laugh out of me.

I've said this before, but the show either ended with "Homer's Enemy" or "Behind the Laughter" (and I sort of consider the Scully era it's own individual beast anyway)
