Now more than ever WWE may want to consider an off season. Just a thought.

An off season is pushing it, but WWE could do a much better job rotating talent.

I mean, this thread is pretty redundant, isn't it?
It's been said a thousand times or more on this board alone that it'll never happen.

An outright off-season would kill them, since a significant chunk of their audience is likely watching entirely out of habit due to it being reliable weekly programming that's on when nothing else new is. But they do need to start cycling people in and out and making sure people get breaks here and there.
And also, tone down the house shows. They're not their major source of income, their attendance numbers often aren't all that great, there's no reason for guys to kill themselves over them. Not saying I'd stop them entirely, far from it, but there's no reason to do them quite as often as they do.

I have always said WWE should do PPVS and TV year round, but only tour in the summer or the spring and summer.

WWE creative usually takes SummerSlam to TLC off so why can't the wrestlers.

Imo they should still do TV during this period, but stop doing house shows.

An off season would be a bit much but yeah, rotating talent is a great idea. Would not only let wrestler's rest and heal but also keep them fresh and stop them from getting stale.
Like the Wyatt's at the moment. Is there any reason to have them keep showing up and wrestling pointless, filler matches and thus risking injuries? They're not involved in anything so for the past 2 months they could easily have been resting.

Would be a much better idea to rotate mandatory off-time for workers. Yeah, I've said this kind of thing before. Make it so that everyone gets something like three months off, but with three different groups, so that Group A is off from right after Mania (so, beginning of April) to the beginning of July, Group B from July to the beginning of October, and Group C from October to the beginning of January, then have everyone for the Rumble through Mania season. Then they can change up who is in each group every year (so the Groups the second year are all 1/3 from the original year's Group A, 1/3 from Group B, and 1/3 from Group C). It forces them to use more people better (so, theoretically, they would be forced to create more stars), and it gives the guys time to recover, both physically and as characters.

I wouldn't even do it in such large groups. Stagger it out a bit more, have twelve groups of workers, one for each month, that get time off so that the sliding staggering makes it more unnoticeable.

I'm like this idea but I wouldn't take guys off TV completely. It could ruin momentum for some guys if they were taken off TV right in the middle of a hot streak. And what about champions? They don't want to have a champion inactive for 3 months. Instead people in these groups could work a reduced schedule when their time comes. They could work Raw or Smackdown and the PPVs but not house shows. Also they don't have to wrestle on TV all the time, sometimes they could just cut a promo. This keeps needed characters on TV while giving them time off.

An off season would be death for the WWE as one of the selling points to broadcasters is content 52 weeks a year so the notion is a non starter. What they do need is 3 weeks off each year for all talent with pay and a guarantee that there will be a storyline waiting for them when they return no matter where they are on the card. It would help talent rest up, heal and maintain their RL relationships so you would have fewer big stars on marriage 2 or 3.

I know there's another thread already, but the problem isn't schedule, it's the in ring style. These guys work fewer matches than the guys did 10-15 years ago and far fewer than their 80s and 90s counterparts. Obviously those guys had their own issues, but if they just learned how to tone it down in there when they aren't at big shows, they would be in much better shape.

Just rotate guys. Give Cena three months off. Then Orton. Then Seth. Then Reigns. Hell, even two at once if needed. It'll keep guys fresh.

For the wrestlers that matter to WWE, there is an off season. Part timers are the real draw for the company right now. Everyone else are just interchangeable bodies to fill segments/house shows. I seriously doubt WWE even cares if anyone besides, Brock, Taker, Rock, Cena, Reigns (ish), and HHH are healthy enough to wrestle.
