How do you think Nigel McGuinness' career in WWE would've panned out if he passed his physicals and came in along with Daniel Bryan? A year older than Cena and Lesnar, I always thought this guy was the ULTIMATE indy prospect and its a damn shame he's still just that. He was supposed to be brought in before the whole "indy NXT boom" at a time where CM Punk didn't have a pipebomb and was a jobber to the stars, Daniel Bryan almost lost a battle to a necktie, and Kaval was well....Kaval. It's hard not to picture Nigel winning the WWE title or WHC because he was just one of those "WWE can't f*** this up" guys. I feel like he would've been the posterboy for the Authority at one point or another too. Seeing him mix it up with Cena, Orton, Sheamus, Rhodes, Jericho, Mysterio, Bryan, Punk etc. would've been a damn pleasure. Now I just made my self sad

That's a good question, honestly. I think he would been a big deal on Smackdown (at least, for his few months). Probably would have gotten an IC title run or maybe even a WHC run. I can't see him going much further than that but hey, I didn't see Daniel Bryan going further than that and look at where he ended up.
I don't think he would have been on NXT since they seemed intent on having one "Indie Star" per season (which makes sense as having more than that kinda kills the concept)

As much as I like Nigel, I could see his WWE career pan out a lot like Drew Galloway's. Comes in hot, is booked to be impressive right out of the blocks, but within a year... basically a mid-carder with no fanfare.
Now, if he was able to wrestle today and went in... I could see him having a pretty good run, as there are enough "workrate" fans out there now where he'd stay well booked just because people like watching him wrestle.
... but then, Cesaro. Dammit.
It's really a toss-up.

I think he would've had Barrett's role in Nexus

I think if he was signed between 2006-2009 he'd be a former World Heavyweight Champion for sure.

He'd have got a solid push at first, probably winning one of the midcard belts early on before being derailed after having a programme with Cena, Rey Misterio or Big Show that destroyed all his credibility.
Then he'd probably have formed a tag team with Barrett and be about the same position as Wade is now.

We'd be complaining about his overuse of lariats.

Well for one thing, Dean Ambrose's rebound lariat would look absolutely terrible if you had Nigel in the same company.
Personally I think he was a good mix of Barrett and Cesaro, not quite as good a talker as Barrett or as good a wrestler as Cesaro, but a damn better speaker than Cesaro and a much better wrestler than Barrett.
Would have gone as far as Kevin Owens has now imo. Had the IWC cred but still had an edge that would have made him a great heel in the company.

We'd be complaining about his overuse of lariats. I remember hearing about him being a "controversial" champion for ROH back in 08 or so. And I was intrigued by that, like what's so controversial about the guy? Hmmm...oh, he just does a lot of lariats and some people don't like that? That's a let down. He's awesome though, I just thought "controversial" was a funny way to describe him.

While I never saw him on the indies, I loved his look as Demond Wolfe in TNA and was always very disappointed his WWE deal fell through.

Wasn't Ambrose doing his booty-ass version of the clothesline as a tribute after Nigel had to retire? Maybe he doesn't do it at all if Nigel is still active.

While I never saw him on the indies, I loved his look as Demond Wolfe in TNA and was always very disappointed his WWE deal fell through. He failed his Wellness test due to his messed up bicep. If he got it fixed, he would got back his offer. But he couldn't afford not be on the DL and went to TNA. Which worked out good until the Orange Goblin arrived. But Wade Barrett is what Nigel would had been except with less gimmick overhauling every couple of months.

I honestly see him winding up in the same situation as Cesaro - Vince just doesn't get his appeal and keeps him in a never ending mid-card holding pattern.

I think we would've gotten him over Sheamus. Or at least, I hope we would've. And the world would be a better place for it.

I think he would've had Barrett's role in Nexus I came in here to say this. I think he would have done well in that role. Plus, it could have always led to Bryan/Nigel matches in WWE.

Any interest of bringing him in as a trainer for the performance center?

I think if he was signed between 2006-2009 he'd be a former World Heavyweight Champion for sure. Given how many careers of genuinely talented guys they screwed up in that time period, unlikely. People think because they treated Bryan and Punk well, it means guys with talent are a sure thing, when for each one they did right, there's many more like Lance Hoyt, a Colt Cabana, a Low Ki and others they never really gave a chance to get off the ground.
