Just read that Nakamura is off to the Performance Center in a few weeks, Machine Gun says his NJPW contract is up on February 1st, don't know about AJ and Doc, but the pre-signing testing means it would probably be too early for a surprise Rumble appearance (not that I was expecting one anyway), and there probably wouldn't be enough time to bring them in and build them for something at Wrestlemania.
So maybe a post Mania RAW appearance to create some buzz? Imagine the pop they would get if they showed up with that crowd.

That would be the smartest decision because they need that crowd. No other crowd is going to pop for four guys who they don't know. AJ Styles would get a reaction and Doc might get a cheer because some people recognize him as Luke Gallows or Festus but let's not pretend that it's Benoit/Malenko/Guerrero/Saturn coming in. Four of the top WCW stars during the hottest period in wrestling got a huge pop, and really that might have been little underwhelming considering Benoit was the champion when he left. Four guys form NJPW, who's only major exposure in the United States has been TNA or low card WWE aren't getting a huge pop from most crowds.

I don't know about the Royal Rumble, but I think AJ will debut in time to have a match at Wrestlemania. I think Gallows and Anderson will have a surprise debut on the NXT show Wrestlemania weekend and Nakamura debut at some point after Wrestlemania.

I'd be shocked if they still didn't have AJ debut at the Rumble pretty much because, for new subscribers, it's a free show. It's the same idea, really, as when Sting debuted during the free month for Survivor Series two months ago.

wasn't there some story around about how WWE was mad about the news getting out on the signings, because styles was going to be one of the surprise entrants in the rumble?

At his age, AJ doesn't really have a long term. I doubt he would have signed if he wasn't guaranteed a good amount of money, so there's incentive for WWE to treat him as more than just another indy guy. |

Like, I'm not knowledgeable about their contracts and offers but I'd be shocked if AJ came for cheap like other recruits. Same with Nakamura, I'd be really surprised if they didn't give him more than his present NJPW contract was. |
