I woke up this morning and checked my twitter alerts, as I always do, and one of the first ones I saw was Rockstar Spud's about Alan Rickman's passing. My heart dropped. I've never been much of a movie watcher, so I mostly only knew him as Severus Snape, but he did the role so incredibly well, and he seemed like such a nice guy. The comments from others on the Harry Potter cast has been breaking my heart the last few hours.
Rest well, and thank you, Alan.

GOOD GRIEF 2016 is looking for some serious nut kicking from me if it doesn't stop!!! before being the star in DIE HARD, he was in the first episode of ITV's GIRLS ON TOP, an all female version of the young ones i went to see ROBIN HOOD PRINCE OF THIEVES in the cinema and loved his sheriff of nottingham ..... should have kicked cosners' ass in that yeah i watched GALAXY QUEST and the POTTER movies, but only as a passing interest ..... DOGMA is just out there in funniness all round, he just added that drollness to it! same with HITCH HIKERS, which i actually have on dvd ..... and i watched two of his last ones only recently, GAMBIT, where he is actually ass naked at the end, and A LITTLE CHAOS which is a beautiful little movie such a gorgeous voice too, felt like walking on gravel soaked in jelly, and at least he got ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS done ..... his pic on wikipedia, posing for a picture for a fan, in the snow ..... PERFECTLY sums up the guy and another one gone and another one gone rip

He had one of the most unforgettable voices. He made lines more impressive. A true shame.

Not only this first couple weeks of 2016, but the last couple of years have been particularly awful to the entertainment biz. It's gotten such that I hear the wrestling industry is looking at them and saying, "Hollywood, slow down!" As for the threes rule, I'd be more worried about what other famous people are 69 and live in the UK. So you're saying Tim Curry should watch out Considering the health problems he has had, that was already a given.

Mr. Rickman will always be Hans Gruber to me. One of my favorite movie villains and he was one heck of an actor. RIP Alan Rickman.

As someone that grew up as a hardcore Harry Potter nerd, this one hurts. We'll always have a great body of work to look back on, and I sincerely hope he gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Here is something you can add to that rules of three:
In the mid to late 90s there was a British sitcom called STELLA STREET. It was about a bunch of celebrities living on an English street. The celebrities were played by two comedians good at impersonations.
Well over the last month three characters real life counterparts have died: Rickman, Bowie and Jimmy Hill.

RIP. I remember enjoying him in Dogma when it first came out. My day job is as a substitute teacher so I've been listening all day to bummed out high school kids bemoaning the death of the guy who played Snape from the Harry Potter movies. Then after being home for a few hours, I go on Facebook and see a picture of Alan Rickman as the Metatron from Dogma and thinking "Alan Rickman died? When the hell did that happen?!" I only saw the first Harry Potter movie once when it first came out. And I know Rickman better as the Metatron (that people have been misspelling online as "Metatron") than anything. Plus it doesn't help matters that the kids just called Rickman "the guy who played Snape" and never by his actual name.

This made me very sad. Allan Rickman is one of my favorite actors and very first crushes even though he has always been way older than me. He was extremely talented and I am going to miss his acting very much. I was also very charmed by him as a person. Rest in peace.

"By Grabthar's Hammer, by the sons of Worvan, you shall be avenged!"
Man, I even liked him in movies I didn't like... he was in "The January Man", a terrible comedy/action with Kevin Kline as an ex-cop chasing a serial killer, playing the best friend of Kline and he lit up the screen when he was there (which was far too little for that movie).
Whenever you saw him on screen, you got 100%.
Rest in peace, sir.
