As if it wasn't looking obvious from the onset, it looks obvious that HHH will win on Sunday, and if not surely Roman or Brock will win instead. But maybe they want to be different and surprise us as the "shot in the arm" or should we stfu and accept another imminent lackluster Rumble.

The surprise will be to Vince and the WWE when they are once again Booed out of the Arena like they've done something wrong.

Triple H is the surprise.
"FINE DAMMIT! IF THEY WON'T CHEER WHO I WANT THEM TO CHEER, WE'LL JUST HAVE A VILLAIN WIN THE RUMBLE EVERY YEAR!"

Nah. I wish, but nah. HHH wins, to the surprise of no one.

The only other remote chance is Big Show.
I can see WWE "swerving us" by having Show win the Rumble and becoming Triple H's new corporate favourite to face Reigns.

Here's what will happen.
People make like 3-4 predictions, one will be right, so people will say "Everyone saw it coming" and we all collectively pretend the other 3 theories never happened and that counts as being predictable. Worked for Survivor Series.

If it's not Reigns or Triple I see nobody else winning even Lesnar so nah, they won't surprise us by having someone else win the Rumble.

Heath will toss Bray, Brock and Roman over in one move, everyone celebrates and Triple H enters at 31 and Heath tosses himself over the top so Hunter wins.

I really hope this number 31 idea is not the way they go.
It's not going to be a pleasant result either way.

The last two Royal Rumble's actually got a fair bit of media press because of fan backlash, so they're obviously going to ride that wave and deliberately try and piss the fans off this year by having Triple H win. And they're going to think they're oh so clever for doing it. And it's going to suck.

I made the bold choice in this poll and selected "maybe".

It's Triple H. It's extremely obvious every single year, so it's not a change now. The only even remote surprise in the last f***ing 18 years is Sheamus in 2012, although he was basically the consensus winner a month before and it changed for a few weeks.
EDIT: Okay and Cena in 2008. Other than that, I promise you won't find a single surprise winner.

I know many people predicted it, but it wasn't telegraphed and there wasn't a clear favorite being pushed on TV

MAYBE Shawn had a distant chance, but otherwise...

I could eat my words on this, but to quote someone from Fringe, "Nothing grows from scorched earth."

I just can't imagine if HHH is actually in the main event of what's supposed to be the biggest Mania ever as the "big draw". He's simply not a draw the likes of Cena, Rock, Austin, or Hogan. Hell, some of the Midcarders from Hogan's era are bigger stars than him. Roman is way too new to draw 100,000 people. Mania will sell largely due to name value, but they still have to draw more people than ever.
