It's still the same old of Triple H coming back after not being around for awhile & putting himself in the spotlight yet again. This company really just doesn't get it anymore. Some will use the excuse that it works from a story line perspective, but who actually wants to see this? Reigns already has had the title twice in the past few months, and only to chase it for a 3rd time just so he can leave Mania as champ? It's just ridiculous. Now Triple H will have 7 Mania main events, pretty much tying Hogan, unless you count Hogan at Mania 9 winning against Yokozuna which makes him have 8.

I actually don't mind Triple H as champ. He's already the most over heel on the roster.

In WWE creative eyes you haven't made it until Trips puts you over. Cena made Bryan and Punk look like the next coming but they still had to go through Trips. Brock made Reigns but it isn't official until the great one says so.

Doofus son in law. heh. Always a classic.
Sometimes I think HHH pushes NXT so hard with indie dudes is so he can still get hardcore wrestling fan love while putting himself over big time. The guy is insecure as I've ever seen in a wrestler and last night was just like....oof, I wasn't even mad at HHH, I honestly just wanted to give him a hug and tell him, "Its not your fault" Good Will Hunting style.

Only if Roman loses.
They are boneheaded about who they want to push, but this isn't about Triple H. It's a dated belief that Authority angles are the best way to get a baby face over.
Presumably, this is about getting Roman consistently over by the end.

Triple H has also been around the WWE/F longer and he's consistently been a top act.
As I've said before, Triple H is about the only proxy left to the top babyfaces of the Attitude Era. He's the only one able to put over babyfaces at Wrestlemania that makes it look like a big deal.
The only other person would be Taker, but Taker isn't jobbing most Wrestlemania matches.

I would have been alright with him vs. Reigns at Mania just as long as he wasn't champ or if the match didn't involve the title at all. It makes no sense for him to win the rumble in 2016 after not being in the ring for 10 months, and pretty much beating everyone in the match clean to put himself over again. I really just don't get why they think this is actually good TV. The Authority should have ended over a year ago besides. HHH shouldn't even be on TV anymore, but in a backstage role, but he can't help himself since he needs to try to stay relevant in the fans' eyes.

Just for reference, at Wrestlemania, Triple H will be about the same age Hulk Hogan was in the Spring of 2000.
They should remember that the next time they bash WCW.

There's a big problem with comparing it to the Punk situation.
It's only the same if Triple H beats the guy he's meant to face.
With Punk, he was white hot and feuded with Triple H which gave him a loss, cooled him down and then Triple H escaped once more. It did nothing positive to Punk during that let alone especially given they were both faces. Punk was effectively killed as that kind of babyface that night. With the Bryan feud however, Triple H being in the spotlight was worth it given Bryan going over him gave Bryan massive credibility with the casuals and considering who Triple H is (and also who the company thinks Triple H is) that's the biggest endorsement he could get. If the guy goes over Triple H in a major feud is extremely important and it helps their careers regardless, if not it does nothing.
It's not him being in the spotlight. It's about who he feuds with and if he puts them over at the end of the day because if he doesn't put them over it's a Punk situation. If he does put them over? It's a Bryan situation which effectively gave that angle the best ending it could get.
You can't beat that.

Hate to say it, but the part I don't like is a near-telegraph victory for Reigns at WM. A younger babyface dethroning HHH and beating him once and for all at WM for the title could work with the likes of Ambrose, Bryan, maybe even Wyatt or Owens, but Reigns is pretty stale right now and him winning is the bad kind of predictable.

HHH shouldn't even be on TV anymore, but in a backstage role, but he can't help himself since he needs to try to stay relevant in the fans' eyes. Yes, The Authority should have ended with Daniel Bryan beating them at WrestleMania XXX. You're right. But that didn't happen. Didn't make sense for him to win? And who should win? Roman? The crowd would have shit all over it. He didn't beat anyone clean? Ambrose had a killer last man standing match that he and Owens sold like hell during the Rumble. Jericho? Jericho loses to everyone. He's there to put people over. Wyatt? Had it not been for Sheamus, Wyatt was going to Sister Abigail Triple H. Wyatt beat the hell out of Triple H and could have eliminated him had it not been for Triple H's crony being in the match. They've been mapping out Triple H being in the match since TLC when Roman took him out, and he was quoted saying "I'll be back to seek revenge, but you won't see it coming." or something along those lines. It makes sense for Triple H to win the match. I mean, come on, his character is an egomaniac hypocrite that runs the company. Why wouldn't he make himself #30 to ensure that the title did not stay on Reigns? He's shown in the past that he doesn't want what is best for business, he wants whats good for himself. He tried the same stunt with Bryan and got his ass handed to him. Granted I could live without Reigns being made super duper strong at 'Mania, but I'd like it a lot more than trying to replicate Rock/Cena from 'Mania 29 with Brock where the crowd obviously wants Brock to win, Reigns wins, and Brock halfheartedly raising Roman's hand in victory. Plus I'd rather see Brock work with new people like Wyatt.

No, he's not.
I will admit the Triple H stuff in 2011 screwed Punk over, but I'm more than certain that the outcome to this will be Roman Reigns winning at WrestleMania, and part of the reason they are here is because they don't have a lot to work with... though that was self-inflicted due to an inability to create more stars.
And, frankly, while we're at it, I always wanted to complain about Punk on Colt Cabana's podcast. He starts off by saying "I don't want this to sound like I hate WWE", and spends more than 2 hours talking about how much he hates WWE. He's nothing more now than a whiny prick who took his ball home when he didn't get his way, and I used to worship this guy and actually had wanted him to end Undertaker's streak.

The crowd reaction last night should really tell them something. You would think the evil authority figure on TV and the hardcore wrestling fans who think that HHH just wants to "bury" everyone wouldn't have any of Triple H being in the Rumble. But they were chanting his name and cheering him on over Reigns loudly.

Once again it proves how out of touch Vince is. I don't care what evil deed Hunter does, he'll be cheered over Reigns and how they don't see it is beyond me. It worked for guys like Austin and Bryan because storyline wise you could see they weren't corporate, they didn't have the backing of the machine, whereas with someone like Reigns it's obvious he has the backing of the corporate machine.
Like another poster on here stated in regards to Reigns. There's really nothing about him that stands out, he doesn't really look like a killer or a rebel type, he's just pretty bland in terms of how he's booked. Now if they booked him as a silent badass then it'd be a different story.

And that's still not going to stop Punker from going back to WWE 2 years from now after he's properly embarrassed himself in UFC.
