I was going to go to a house show last month but because they did the bs VIP thing for the front row all front row tickets were 500 minimum...

I just checked the event page for a Raw taping that's coming to my town in March. Tickets range from $21 to $115, which I'm assuming doesn't include all those outrageous surcharges that Ticketmaster tacks on.
My ticket cost $70, but I'm sitting in the club section so the price is well worth it. If the event was a hockey game, I would be close to center ice.
When I was a kid, I always wanted floor seats so that I had a chance to get close to the barricade and slap hands with a superstar. My dad would say, "why do you want to sit on the floor? You can't see a thing!" As I got older, I realized that he was right. The last show I had floor seats at was in 2011 and, while I could follow the action well enough, sitting in the stands would have been better. And this was at a house show, when fans usually don't bring signs. (I did get close enough to the barricade to shake hands with Bret Hart as he made his way around ringside, so that was pretty cool.)
I make it a point not to get floor seats when I'm buying a ticket to a WWE show. Being elevated above the ring gives me a good view no matter what section I'm sitting in.

Whenever theres a show at the Prudential Center, thats where I aim to sit. I have Devils season tickets so I know that arena like the back of my hand and I know exactly where I want to be for wrestling.

For about $50 (including taxes and fees), I'm attending Raw on Monday, sitting in the lower bowl, about midway up, just to the left of where the hard camera is aimed -- same area we normally sit (usually one aisle over from where Roman Reigns comes down, haha).
Compare that to what you might pay for a concert or another similar entertainment event and it's not out of line, probably cheaper in most cases. I don't see the big deal.
And if the IWC was right and WWE was really destroying the product, how is it that they haven't had to cut prices to get people to attend, or even paper the house?
Side note: We paid about $125 (with fees) to go to Survivor Series in Atlanta, got in on the presale. So we get to Philips Arena and we're following the signs to our section which is like Seciton 126 or something and we see 123, 124, 125 ... and no 126. There's just this door with two guys in blazers and no one is going in. I ask those guys if they can point me to 126 and they check our tickets and smile and say, 'Come right in.' Turned out it was some kind of semi-VIP plaza area.
Our section and the one next to it had kind of boxed seats (not like a sky box, but they were set apart) with two concession stands and a merch stand and a full bar exclusive to us, plus the matches were on the TV screens in that area and also our own restrooms and access to our own step-outside smoking area (which I'm a smoker, so it meant I could go grab a quick puff without walking halfway around the arena).
Oh, and I go up to use the restroom during a short break and there's two big security guys standing in front of the men's room door and they are blocking people, saying the restroom is out of order. Which seemed funny, how could a whole restroom be out of order? And if there's flooding of sewage from something backed up, why have security instead of maintenance guys with mops and whatnot? So 10 seconds later Roman Reigns is escorted in -- that's his holding area before he makes his way down the aisle.
And, what do you know, he comes down exactly one aisle over from us, haha ... as usual.

I can't complain about prices I've paid for shows. I paid about $100 per ticket, for the last show I went to, floor seating, and could see pretty well. The only time I had trouble seeing, was when we went to the last Raw before Wrestlemania 20. I've only been to 2 PPV's, but they were reasonably priced, imo. I paid $200 per ticket for Survivor Series 2011, and we had a clear view of both the stage and the ring. I bought the Wrestlemania 29 travel package, and paid $2000. That covered 3 people, and included 2 days at Axxess, HOF, and WM, plus the hotel. When we got to our room, the rate posted on the door was $2000 a night to stay there.

WWE shows sell out on a regular basis, so in the strictest sense, no. No more than any other regular sporting event, at least. Prices will go down if tickets stop selling as much. And in spite of the tanking ratings, that looks like it isn't happening anytime soon. My ticket cost $70, but I'm sitting in the club section so the price is well worth it. If the event was a hockey game, I would be close to center ice. Those are pretty much perfect seats. Whenever theres a show at the Prudential Center, thats where I aim to sit. I have Devils season tickets so I know that arena like the back of my hand and I know exactly where I want to be for wrestling. I think that's about what I paid when I went to RAW at the Prudential Center last year. The view of the Titantron was obscured, but it had a great view of the ring.

Floor seats suck anyway. Unless you're front row, you're not gonna see anything. I've sat in the 6th and 7th row at house shows and had amazing views. At Takeover London I was 14 rows from the ring and couldn't see a thing, eventually I spotted empty seats behind the hard cams and was amazed at how much better the view was from up on the balcony.

I thought that Summerslam ticket situation last year was bullshit until I learned how bullshit Ticketmaster could get when relatives wanted Adele tickets for Christmas.
