I still think he will be a MEer but not THE guy they want him to be. He still doesn't that that IT factor to carry a show. Cena as great mic work and in the WWE world you need that to be the guy. Daniel Bryan was solid at it himself. Roman just lacks energy. At times he to quiet in tone.

I don't think so. He'll win the Mania main event and still get booed, and get turned heel at some point this year. I think they have a better shot with Rollins as THE guy.

Do the kids like Roman Reigns? That's really important. I don't know what the kids like these days.

It depends on how stubborn Vince is going to be about it. If they were smart they would recognize patterns in the entertainment world. Bayley could be their Ronda Rousey to usher in a potential boom period, but would Vince and company really get behind a female wrestler that strongly? It's doubtful, though Vince used to take chances that worked out. He's become too reliant on a tired formula that clearly is no longer the answer.

If WWE applied some logic, they would stop fixating on this idea of having "the guy". It'd make more sense to have a half dozen genuine main event stars. It reduces the pressure on each guy if they don't need to single handedly carry the company on their backs.

When he was in The Shield, I was trumpeting him as the future. Though I never meant that as him being THE GUY, but rather one of the the guys. Do I think he can be a mainstay in the main event for years to come in the latter sense? Totally. Do I think that he can be the standard bearer? No, not really.

One thing is for sure, we know the company is certainly stubborn enough to keep him as the main guy. Their pushing of Reigns is reminiscent of the Stockholm Syndrome tactic.

At most I can see Reigns becoming an Orton sort - widely cheered (though even that'll never be as consistent as it is with Orton with the way they've done him) and consistently a threat, but never really any sort of actual draw or something they want to build around in any real way. Just a guy who's a main eventer because he's too successful not to be and is good enough in the ring he can hold the fort down when they run out of more interesting options.

He'll turn heel eventually, people will love him, and all will be forgotten. But he'll always be more of a Batista than a Cena.

Vince has never truly adapted to the era of 'smarter' wrestling audiences. When he was first making his name, it was very easy to brainwash fans into thinking the way he did because they questioned so little. He still thinks that if he throws enough kayfabe achievements at a guy, fans will see him as 'the best' because he succeeds where others fail. Instead, people just get pissed off that the guy is getting pushed harder than their favourites and resent him. I'd say whether Roman stays at the top depends on how badly it damages profits and ratings to keep pushing him, and of course how much longer it's Vince at the helm. I'd hope the 'there can only be one main guy, and that guy will be the one I like best regardless of what the fans think' philosophy will go when he does.

If he doesn't sell merchandise like Cena does around WrestleMania this year, no. As we saw last year, WWE will change course if they don't think Roman is over enough. I think with the right booking of his feud with HHH Reigns can get people behind them, but there are different variables with his elbow as well as Ambrose and Lesnar being in the main event at Fastlane.
