Can you imagine how many tongues this would still? Thrawn being canon again would be a huge step towards salving the hurt a lot of people had with the Legends changeover.

Those were by far the best EU books, and he was by far one of the best characters. This would definitely not be a bad addition to make.

I figure he is the Unnamed Fleet Admiral that shows up at the end of Aftermath.

I want the Yuuzhan Vong to become canon in Ep VIII, if only to have them wiped out by the First Order

Think is, ok there's the EU with a lot if stuff you'll need to throw out to make a coherent series going forward.
But it's not all like that, if there's an awesome character like Thrawn, why not use him? You do that, you have a good character you can tell all sorts of stories with, and you appeal to the hardcore base, there's no real downside to it.

Good, now let's make Starkiller canon. There's nothing that happens in the first Force Unleashed (didn't play the second one) which is directly conflicted by the later films and it gave an actual reason for how the Rebel Alliance came to be in the first place.

HELL YEAH BRING BACK THRAWN.
When I saw TFA I couldn't stop myself thinking that the Solo twins were involved in it, but I'll settle for Thrawn being back. The original Thrawn trilogy is probably the best thing produced in the EU, and a great structure for a cinematic trilogy if they had made Episodes VII-IX back in the 90s.

The Chiss are already canon again so it makes sense to use him somewhere.

Since my Mister Sinister costume turned out so well at last year's NYC Comic Con, I'm actually thinking of doing Thrawn this year. But I think I'll put him in a black uniform as if he joined the First Order-keep it current and less chance any blue makeup that wears off will show up on it.

YES!
After some elements of the KOTOR-era coming back into the Star Wars canon ("Hammerhead" ships in SW:Rebels inspired by a 'centuies-old design', Taris being a member of the New Republic in TFA, Kylo Ren's lightsaber being based off a thousands-of-years-old design from Malachor), Thrawn coming back would be great. And the Chiss are canon again, so might as well bring back the best one.
It makes sense, too, since the Zahn Star Wars books are the basis for some of the original "EU becoming G-Canon" material, like the name for the Old Republic/Imperial capital planet being Coruscant. And the Immobilizer 418 cruiser (aka the Interdictor Cruiser) originated in the Zahn books and recently had an entire episode dedicated to it in Rebels.

I'm super amused that they're using Rebels as a dumping ground for the cooler stuff from the EU.

My dream here is that we get Prince Xizor somewhere in this, as the Falleen already are confirmed legit too.

It's really the best way of handling the Legends stuff: bring the cool stuff in through new canon works like Rebels, new canon video games, etc. while safely being able to avoid the mountains of garbage that the EU created.
