Not literally. Like for whatever reason they just stopped appearing in movies, TV, music, etc. I'm more interested in the ones that did so voluntarily rather than just because they got blackballed or something.
Rick Moranis is the one that always comes to mind.
Another one was Chris Tucker for a while. Dude got paid a shit ton for being (in my opinion not funny) in the Rush Hour movies. Then disappeared for like a decade.

Dave Chappelle vanished after the third season of Chappelle's Show, or how far into the show's run did he just disappear? He became a recluse for a good amount of time after that.

Sarah Holcomb. Maggie in Caddyshack and the Mayor's (underage) daughter in Animal House. She made 3 other movies - Caddyshack being her last - fell into drugs & alcohol and suddenly suffered from schizophrenia. She vanished from Hollywood, and now lives under an assumed name. bobbyderailed.blogspot.com/2007/01/sarah-smiles.html

Where's Brendan Fraser gone? Last I heard of him was when he was doing the Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor movie, and I've heard very little from him since.
George of the Jungle was one of my favourites growing up, as well as Looney Tunes: Back in Action (I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, THAT MOVIE IS GOOD!).

I'd say Rick Astley.
Dude was a massive star in the UK and was making inroads in the US.
The story is he was just in a car going to an event, he just told them to stop, got out and gave it all up.
He came back with the whole Rickroll thing, but he had the talent to be MASSIVE at the time.

Dolores Hart when from being Elvis's leading lady in "Loving You" to becoming a nun. Her only acting credit after 1963 is a documentary about her story.

And continuing with the J theme, was Jm J. Bullock ever in anything after the 1980s Hollywood Squares?

Dana Carvey was actually seen as the breakout star coming out of the Wayne's World movie and a lot of people saw him as the next big comedic actor. Then two high profile mega failures in "The Dana Carvey Show" and "Master of Disguise" completely derailed his career and he quickly got outshined by his former SNL and Wayne's World co-star Mike Meyers. I know he's resurfaced recently with a couple of bit parts, I think he did a credit card commercial with Kevin Nealon resurrecting Hanz and Franz, but before that he had almost completely disappeared for nearly a decade.

And continuing with the J theme, was Jm J. Bullock ever in anything after the 1980s Hollywood Squares? He played Willie's brother in a couple of episodes on the last season of ALF. He was diagnosed HIV positive in the mid-80's, that might have something to do with him not acting all that much anymore.

Technically he disappeared before season 3. He filmed all the skits, but because he 1)wasn't comfortable with where the show was going and 2)felt the show was ruining his stand ups (which was his real passion) he refused to film the actual show portion.

Daniel Day-Lewis walked away from Acting for five years or so. He did some woodwork and then became a shoemaker. Then Scorsese came calling with Gangs of New York and he returned to being an Actor. Whatever else he done in that sabbatical obviously did him good because he came back better (and just as insane) than ever.

John Deacon of Queen. Ever since he retired in 1997, he has refused to appear with the group for anything including notable events like the Olympics in 2012 and the group's induction into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Brian May has said that Deacon doesn't really contact him and Roger Taylor anymore except for financial matters, and that he pretty much is a broken man these days.

Wiki says he stepped out of the limelight due to wanting to be there for his family. Also, he had multiple heart surgeries (and one of which was botched), so that could have contributed too. To add, until recently it seemed like Michael Keaton disappeared after Jack Frost or so.
