No not permanent.
It's just that there are just way too many of those threads flooding off topic. I know this section of the board is meant for threads like that, but you know too much is well, too much.
Already existing "Ask me threads" are ok in my opinion. Just don't make anymore new ones for a while alright?
Same thing for tournaments. Try to avoid having too many of those too.

Eh, as long as they are generating legitimate responses, I see no reason to stop 'em. Like the tournament threads, the good ones will go on, and the bad ones will quickly get lost.

Yes, but you see, the thing is most of these threads aren't generating legitimate reponses and are often times, just a way to post-hoe. Those threads also bury other threads that could bring up somewhat better discussion.
I also feel that some of those threads are made just for the sake of making an "ask me" thread of their own.

It's cluttering up off topics and honestly, isn't it essentially the same 10 people asking and being asked?
But sure, I can be a hardass and do an all purpose "Ask whoever wants to answer your questions" thread if need be.

Was wondering when this overload of "Ask soandso" threads was going to catch the Mods attention.
Between that, the "Tourney" threads, the Hot Chick threads, and the E-fed threads that DON'T belong in Off Topic, this section was getting a MITE cluttered.
I agree with the Moderators.

While I may sound like a total tool now, but I not only agree with Madison 100%, I'd also go a step further: It is not innovative to emulate a thread topic like Best bands of the 60's and start a thread for every frigging decade. or as soon as there is a What's the best soandso movie, you can a start a timer and within the hour there will be at least another thread with the same topic or one with What's the worst soandso movie seriously, people, enough. OT used to be the wittiest section around, but nowadays I really feel my IQ dropping when I click at certain threads (and I have to according to the Big Black Book of Modding 101). A little more thinking and innovation, puhleeeez? send hate mail to the appropriate channels  |
