Iconic artist for Magic the Gathering Christopher Rush has died. Created some truly classic artwork and the mana symbols in the game. Including the most expensive card in the game Black Lotus

I hope he does get buried with a Black Lotus card, or at least his gravestone features a black lotus design.

RIP. Great artist and, as a Magic player, Lightning Bolt and Ihsan's Shade were cards, among others that he illustrated, that I used all the time.

I was curious was he one of a small stable that did the artwork for them? Or was it a big stable...or just him?
I used to collect a lot of Magic cards back in the 1990s. I lost interest since none of my friends really liked it.

I lost interest since none of my friends really liked it. Originally they used about 30 artists for the first edition of magic (alpha & arabian nights) Christopher Rush in total has done over 100 cards art. Today over it's history they are approaching 500 different artists and rising.
