This week I realized how surreal the WWE feels compared to how it was 5 years ago, specially when you consider than
-Bryan Danielson got a big sendoff on Raw for his retirement of a Career that include winning the WWE Championship at wrestlemania defeating Batista, Orton AND HHH. -HHH is considered by some as the saviour of the WWE -AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are not only signed by the company, but actually pushed as important guys on their respective roles. -Tyler Black is a former WWE Champion, while seems that Jon Moxley is a future WWE Champion. -A considerable part of the fanbase criticizes people like CM Punk and Chris Jericho while people praises the work of the Miz, Kofi Kingston, and even Nikki Bella. -The company has on their roster El Generico, Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt, Austin Aries, Shinsuke Nakamura, La Sombra, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and much others. -NXT is the most beloved and respected show in the company -The divas are having longer matches and proper storylines, to the point that in this next PPV we will have 2 Women's matches.
I know that the booking and the paces of the shows and the matches, plus the companies politics feels exactly the same from the most part, but the landscape of the WWE surely has changed a lot this past 5 years
Also HHH is the WWE Champion LOL

NXT's got a really big team and they need some really big rings. Better be coming with no strings!

But Vince will always be crazy. That never changes.

WWE's in a weird position where one half of the company seems to be really progressive and aware that A. it's the 21st century and 'might is right' alpha male bullshit isn't cool anymore and B. shunning the rest of the wrestling world and the fans that follow it is actually quite silly...
...and the other half seems more determined than ever to keep things rooted in the 20th century, pushing the guy who fits their traditional vision of a star above the people the audience actually wants to see on top, writing terribly outdated characters no one in this day and age would root for or identify with, running to the big names of the Attitude Era every Wrestlemania rather than making new stars...
Things have changed and stayed the same in equal measure.

I mean, Kofi, sure (though New Day is getting staler than month-old bread), but The Miz and Nikki ain't changed a lick in-ring or on-mic, and I haven't noticed any chance in reactions for either of them.

Miz got a lot of praise here for the MizTV segment with AJ Styles where he really heeled it up and got the crowd to hate him, stale New Day is still better than most gimmicks on the roster and don't you mess with The Lioness or her fan-cubs will maul you.

There were two moments that really blew my mind in the past two years, which made me say "what a time to be alive."
Right before the Royal Rumble last year, Raw ended in a segment involving Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins and Sting. This week, Daniel Bryan got a retirement sendoff like Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair, while Vince McMahon stood on the Raw stage next to AJ Styles.
If you would have told me those were possible in 2010, I would have probably slapped you.
