Anybody else find this really annoying? They may as well just shake the camera every time a high-impact move happens and it'd have the same effect.
I can understand why they do it as it's a good way to obscure a finisher not quite physically connecting (see: nearly every Starship Pain) but it's still one of the more distracting production techniques the WWE uses, even though they certainly aren't the only promotion guilty of it.
Still, I guess it's better than the clumsy censoring of moves like Sweet Chin Music where they stuck in a crowd reaction before cutting back to the guy dead on the mat.

WWE's camera work in general is atrocious how many amazing spots have we missed because Dunn is filming something irrelevant?

There was a lot of bad camera work in general at the Royal Rumble I noticed, especially during the New Day match.

The one I'll always remember is missing Jericho's return. I don't even know HOW they managed that.

The constant zooming in and out during striking flurries bothers me most. For example, Brie's Yes-kicks. If you'd never noticed before, rewatch last night's if you dare. It's "can't unsee" material.

They even did it with AJ's submission this week, I couldn't really make out what hold he had applied (I haven't seen all his matches since he was in WWE so wasn't familiar with it).
Still not as bad as the time they missed Bryan's running knee finisher.

the piss poor choices of shots at the wrong time strikes me as either someone trying to get fired or training a replacement who has had their brain removed and replaced with one of those nodding drinking duck things.

Here, I made a gif. That crap. That's not one kick looped, that's a flurry of 3. It's total, vertigo-inducing, bullshit. It pulls me out of the moment every time.

Still not as bad as the time they missed Bryan's running knee finisher. They can't seem to shoot the Calf Killer right. Even in TNA, didn't seem to be a problem. I think it's because WWE relies so much on the wrestler to play to the camera, rather than the camera to best pick up the action.

Hate it so much. I have to look away. The swing is the one that gets me sick though.

I came back to wrestling after a 10-year break and the number 1 reason I can't get into the current product is the shaking of the camera with every punch. When in the blue hell did this crap start?
Everything is just a blur. Guys go outside the ring and it's 10x worse with the shaking, I can't focus on anything. This isn't cutting edge, it's just plain stupidity.

Try NJPW, ROH or an indie with halfway decent production values. Don't let WWE's stupidity sour you on wrestling as a whole. They're not the only current product.

This is something people who don't watch WWE seem to notice and ask about immediately and without fail ("WHY do they do that?! Do they mean to do that?") It's a little weird to step away from wrestling as a fan (or let's be frank here...it's mainly WWE lol) and look at it as an outsider and realize all of the odd things we've come to accept as "normal" in the "WWE Universe." As a whole lately the shilling, awful camera work, stilted, overly scripted, weirdly shot (i.e. look into space, look at cue cards if you're Ryback, look anywhere but into the camera) promos, and odd OCD corporate-speak (sorry to abuse parentheses but the commentary used to actually ADD to both WCW and WWF and would sometimes make otherwise awful matches entertaining in itself) commentary...all of this adds up to a very strange experience for a first time viewer (or one of the many attitude era castoffs who stop in for Mania or RR time to time) and an ever more frustrating one for someone who's followed wrestling since the 80's. I feel myself drifting away again, like I did circa 99 or so, and I just hope that when I return all of these things will seem like a bad dream (that's ENDED lol)

I don't know how anyone outside of the small circle of people who makes the decisions to do these things can see it as anything less than something that constantly draws attention to itself.

They even shake the camera during the backstage promo. Then the promo ends and either the wrestler or the interviewer just stares into space for 5 seconds before the camera cuts away. What the hell is that? Seriously, what the hell is that crap about? LOOK INTO THE DAMN CAMERA and tell me what kind of pain you're going to inflict on your opponent. Don't just stare into space, because then you're inflicting pain on me! I can't take it!
To Vern, who suggested watching another promotion, I watched Wrestle Kingdom and I was completely impressed. It was like watching a real sporting event, for once I had no shame watching wrestling in front of my wife.

Wasn't there a story about how Kevin Dunn or someone thought it was dramatic, so now they just do it all the time?
