8 seconds later... ROMAN REIGNS IS GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA OH SHIT. PLAY HIS MUSIC LOUDER DAMMIT. DROWN OUT THE BOOS. 3 years in a row. The chosen face is getting booed out of arenas heading into Wrestlemania. Add Cena/Rock from the 3 years previous.... 6 years. f***ing pathetic. The last Mania event people were looking forward to had Shawn Michaels in it. Hilarious. JBL: ROMAN HAS EARNED IT! Yeah, no.

In regards to what you said about WM main events at HBK, I'll admit I was excited for WM 27, and obviously WM 30 once Bryan was added.

That's the usual super-face booking. Rollins/Ambrose ladder match, how many powerbombs Ambrose took in the match, he only lost the match by fluke.
It's just that everyone just being microscopic Roman's being strong etc.
But i agree, Ambrose should have kicked out of spear

It's just more obvious when the face is getting 90% boos on a weekly basis.

Charlotte was in the Yes Lock, then the Half Crab, and immediately after that did the Figure 8 and won, selling absolutely nothing that had been done.

I, for one, am glad that the guy who's main eventing the biggest show of the year looked strong.

Thanks for reminding me that I now can't stand Charlotte as women's champ either. Towards the end of the match (I can't believe I'm gonna say this), I found myself rooting for Brie Bella.

Not counting 30, the last Mania main event I looked forward to was... I think Taker / Edge? I know there was a lot of hype for Orton / Triple H (though nowadays people pretend there wasn't), but I never could get into the feud, and Mania 26 I was mostly focused on, "But guys, Taker has been REALLY shitty since he came back." Granted even with 24 to this I day I still haven't actually discerned why Taker / Edge was the main event. I guess just because of Orton winning, but the triple threat was the match that seemed to have all the focus and push for it, though I still say the show should've ended on Michaels / Flair.

Reigns is being given the John Cena treatment and it's failing miserably. What I don't understand is how Vince fails to see it. It's to obvious for him not to. The fans for the most part despise this guy and don't want him anywhere near the main event.
The whole thing is further proof of how out of touch Vince McMahon has become and that he needs to step down and let H take over

Man, I hate to be overly nostalgic but I miss when the top face was actually mega over and people wanted him to win at WM

The selling thing sucks but it is a WWE call and not the talent. I remember it coming out a year or two ago, I think, that Vince does not want the winners selling after matches because that makes them look weak even though they won. Honestly thought it was worse with Styles/Jericho tonight than the rest.

It seems like in recent years Vince has just set out to find random things to ban just to keep from getting bored. One of these days he's going to declare no one can wear red anymore because it might come off looking like blood.

As I said in the other Reigns thread the ending was so awkward. I knew Roman was winning and I knew the kimura was a sympathy spot for him but I expected him to counter or get out of it setting up more finisher trading leading to the go home segment. Instead we got that. And then the show went of the air 10 minutes early. Which I though was odd.

There is likely a certain level of denial that his old tactics don't work anymore and that he really doesn't understand the fanbase these days, and that could also why he was opposed to the ending to TLC despite it turning out to be pretty much the one thing in recent memory that got people actually hot for Reigns - it's not being done his way so he doesn't want to do it, because changing course in any way is admitting failure.

In a way Vince is suffering from having a spruce audience. People will keep tuning in no matter how much they boo a certain outcome because they have no alternative show to switch to. That makes it easier for Vince to just think they are booing because Reigns isn't being made to look strong enough, he's not being paired with the right opponent, etc. but they keep tuning in, so they MUST be into Reigns! And there is probably no small amount of Vince just plain being rich and used to always having his own way.
