While spending some time in South Korea last year, I had the opportunity to take in a baseball game hosted by Daejoen's Hanhwa Eagles took on the Samsung Lions. The Eagles have historically been one of the worst teams in the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization), whereas the Lions are one of the top two. Here's how that game ended up going: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-39iWe4f1zA&index=3&list=PLUO_sKuSIcn4CnxEVMVBJ0uka4q1Cjm9a
So after sitting through that upset I decided to take a closer look at the Eagles for the rest of the season after getting back in the US. Basically they reminded me a little bit of my Kansas City Royals a few years when they were beginning to get good; lot's of talent (by Korean standards) but few if any pitchers to back them up. They didn't do too bad, last season, they finished 6th (out of ten teams) which wasn't enough to get them in the playoffs but it was better than landing in 9th place (out of previously nine teams) as they have in previous years. I've decided that if I could sit through some crappy Royals games, I can sit through crappy Eagles games. The team for whatever reaon intrigues me.
I'm just wondering if there are any other fans foreign baseball teams (other than the Toronto Blue Jays). I'm curious if there are people here who follow baseball in Japan, Australia, Korea or wherever else they have professional teams. I'm curious to hear people who live in those countries (if there are any) on this forum.
If you have pictures of the stadiums I'd like to see them. Here were just a few of the pictures I snapped of the stadium. It was pretty cool (sorry for the blurriness of some of these, I didn't have a particularly steady hand that day):
