It's hard to pick one. But by reputations alone I'd say Haku, Lesnar, and Danny Hodge

Even though I think some of the people on the list might have been able to take him- Brock Lesnar, simply because he's the only one with a "legit" credential to prove he's a legit tough guy.

Lesnar proved he's tough in a way that's fairly hard to top.

3 time NCAA Champion, two time Olympian and Silver Medalist, 1958 Gold Glove winner and the guy they named the NCAA Wrestler of the Year trophy of the year Dan Hodge says hello.

Like, what's the measure of tough?
I think Brock would destroy New Jack in a UFC fight...New Jack would murder Brock in a street fight.
Also disappointed no CM Punk option. I must vote Steve Blackman.

Danny Hodge is someone most of us have only heard of and never seen. If we had he'd have a lot more votes. Just look at his credentials.

Other - Glen Eaten
Worked primarily in the Atlantic Grand Prix promotion in Montreal. Watching Farmer Brooks, Rick Martel and Hubert Gallant shoots they make Glen out to be a total badass. Said he nearly killed a knucklehead that had gotten out of prison and was looking for revenge (supposedly Glen had a hand in getting him locked up).

Haku
Didn't he bite someone's ear off or pull someone's eye out? Maybe both. I've known tough as nails guys that wouldn't go that far to inflict pain. If you are out there mr Haku you have my vote.

Hodge had a legendary grip, which is important while shooting and hooking guys into holds. Jim Ross talked about how he would crush apples with his bare hand like it was nothing.

Hodge won boxing matches. Bad News Brown was trained in judo, and won a Bronze Medal. Also, Andre backed down from him.

Hodge had a legendary grip, which is important while shooting and hooking guys into holds. Jim Ross talked about how he would crush apples with his bare hand like it was nothing. If you go to his Wikipedia page, the main image is one of him doing just that. In 2013, in a court of law, at the age of 79. Another to consider would be "Judo" Gene LeBell. Like Hodge, he has decades of credentials behind him. This is, ultimately, a bit of a silly contest just due to so many factors that completely change things. New Jack's only a "tough guy" because he was known to have shot people and did some crazy stunts in wrestling. An actual hand-to-hand fight? I'm not sure he's ever been shown to have any real ability there. Then you have someone like, say, Bob Backlund. No one thinks of him as a tough guy, but if you've ever seen some of his freak-strong displays during his peak years, you can see that he could have thrown Lesnar around just as easily as Lesnar could throw him around....if Bob wanted to. Backlund seemed to lack that drive to "prove" his toughness, but if he had it, I think he would easily be on a list like this. Steve Williams, Dick Slater and unarmed Harley Race kind of fit in a category together to me, alongside Stan Hansen, Brody, Bob Orton, Gordy and a handful of others. They looked tough, they acted tough and often they came through as being tough, but they also weren't going out of their way to find people tougher than them. They were up for a good bar brawl here and there, or working stiff with a jackass who was giving them crap, but at the end of the day, who knows how they would have fared against guys who were only about beating the legit hell out of other people. We saw what happened when (an admittedly post-prime) Doc tried, and we know the story about Orton getting canned by Watts for losing a barfight. They all got by, by being decent-to-moderate "tough guys" in a business where most of the others were okay with it being dialed down a notch outside of the ring.
