Not if they can't get past the booty thing. Big E's booty is too big for anyone to get past.

No. No matter how much I'd LOVE for that to happen, comedy guys don't become main eventers. They're geeks for life. One of them, anyway.

They desperately need new foes to battle with, both in the ring and on the mic. The problem is how do you elevate Enzo and Cass straight into the tag title scene as soon as they come up? It'll be Paige-syndrome all over again, reached the top of the mountain at the first attempt. Paige was a product of pre-Network, Hulu-only "it's still developmental, guys" NXT. Fans in the US had to make a concerted effort just to watch the show. Enzo and Cass, meanwhile, are front and center of an increasingly visible, heavily hyped "Raw alternative" NXT. Their shirt is for sale on the WWE site. Breaking Ground openly talked about Carmella and Cass' relationship. They even made the video game this year. While a good portion still might not be familiar with their act, they won't be a complete unknown like Paige was.

I could see Big E splitting off to be a babyface because he's just to lovable to boo. I'd keep kofi and xavier together as heels though. It could be easily done have them lose the titles kofi and woods agree they need to be more serious Big E cant because he likes dancing too much.

Big E needs to stay heel, and just fully go 100% "Booty Warrior Fleece Johnson". "Now I wants ya, and I'm gonna have ya."

I like the new day gimmick but i think people will get sick of it after a while. Because its just so obnoxious. You know when Xaiver said in an interview he wants to help Kofi become WWE Champion? I'd have that be his gimmick. Somewhat of a Manger/Hype man/Guy to take the pin for Kofi. I believe Kofi is good enough to become WWE champion He's very talented in the ring. Won every title apart from the WWE title numerous times, He's been with the company for 10 years, He's got a great heel voice and his promos are getting better but Xavier's Charisma and mic skills are off the chart and would give kofi a more entertaining presence on screen. I'd probably even change Kofis last name to a more heel less jamican sounding he could use it as part of his more serious heel turn. I wouldn't want this to happen anytime soon though as the new day are white hot at at the moment and selling a tons of merch. (sorry i fantasy book a lot in my head to get me through work)

The New Day are a strong case in point for why WWE should allow stable members to have thriving singles careers while still part of the stable. If they're going to put New Day in multiple segments and feature them, why not have Big E challenging for the title while Kofi and Xavier cheer him on? Why not have Kofi mix it up with an over singles star or two? There's a lot of potential that they aren't using due to WWE's stubborn insistence that a team needs to never be apart until they break up.

Xavier's made it clear in interviews that his goal at this point is to help Kofi become WWE World Heavyweight Champion, so I wouldn't be shocked if they keep New Day together but mainly as Kofi's backup as he heads towards singles glory.
Personally I'd say Big E has more of a chance than Kofi does at this point, but who knows? I've been surprised before.

Hell, Xavier is booked as such a putz that if he wrestled more often, he could easily be used to put guys over. And hell, on episodes of SmackDown where the roster is thin due to half of them going overseas, each member of New Day could have a singles match if they need to kill time.

They aren't that different than what Jericho did in WCW or what Kurt Angle did in WWE. Also the Edge and Christian comparisons are spot on. It's a rough road to become a main eventer from comedy act but it can be done. The fans are into the group and they have the skills to make it work.

Santino was generally not going to work as a main-eventer (beyond the brief run that could have come from his big moments where he could have beaten Daniel Bryan or Del Rio, which would have required very specific and focused storytelling to work) not because he was a comedy act, but because much of his comedy involved silly offense or in-match shenanigans that portrayed him as less formidable. The New Day are perfectly formidable in the ring - they are just goofballs in and outside of it. There is no Cobra or Worm in their offense, just solid and believable offense. The New Day are strong competitors who happen to be goofy people, not goofy competitors, and that makes all the difference.

Edge, Miz and Jericho have already been mentioned, but I want to point out that before he was taken seriously as a WWE main eventer, Daniel Bryan went through two different comedy gimmicks (the exaggerated "NO" period after he went heel and then the "Hug it out" Team Hell No). The APA had long been a comedy act when JBL got his push. Rock didn't get his push until he became a comedy act. Angle was a comedy act with three I's from day one. Foley only really got to the top once he brought more comedy into his act.

I guess the real test of if someone can be a main eventer is having dimension, and I'd say if nothing else, Big E will be just fine on that front. He can be intimidating when he wants to be.

The act, as it is right now, is a midcard act. Pure comedy acts have, historically, almost never done well in terms of making people want to watch when put into main event positions in wrestling. I certainly can't think of one off the top of my head. There's not anything wrong with that as not everything needs to be a main event act but there's a very noticeable ceiling to the act right now. I don't always agree with Jim Cornette but he had a very fair point when he said, "funny don't draw money."
Now, could they be a legit main event squad? Sure, with some adjustments and by not being a complete clown show 100% of the time. Could they break out as individual acts? Of course. They're all fairly young and are very talented so you never know when a spot could open for one of them.
All that being said, I'd prefer if they just stay how they are now because they are hilarious when they are on.

I guess when I think about main event guys I think about guys like Rock, Auston, Cena, etc. The big names. But Rock was one of my examples. His career was dead in the water as the Blue Chipper and no one cared when he first became angry NOD member #247. It only changed when he started bringing comedy into his act.

Why is it that Big E has to be the breakout star? Is Vince controlling you all and insisting that the guy with the big muscles must be the one?

I think there's a difference between someone who uses comedy in their act and someone who is a comedy act. The Rock was funny, but also always treated as a serious singles contender. I do agree its not a hard and fast rule, just that its a lot harder for a comedy act to make the transition, especially in Modern WWE.
