The best part of JBL's Wiki reading is when he accidentally mentions TNA title runs, like how Sting is a two time NWA champion, but one of this runs was when the title was with TNA. It's hard to tell, just since he did also ask about TNA to Road Doog on his Network show, so he doesn't seem too averse to bringing it up from time to time.

I think it's good in practice, but that it's executed poorly; always so robotic and or comes in during a big moment and kind of kills it. For really big matches, it's cool to have their accomplishments run down as they make their way to the ring, but otherwise, save that shit for during the matches and stuff. Pepper it into the commentary instead of just frontloading all of that shit. But, as far as commentary problems go, at least it's a poorly executed thing that puts people over. That's a lot better than the bulk of commentary problems.

Reminds me of the most recent WWE game, Lawler at times will list off someone's "devastating moves", which are invariably just him reading their "signature moves" off Wikipedia, so he's talking about how Bray Wyatt has "A vicious arsenal with moves like the short arm clotheline, running senton, standing side slam and of course, Sister Abigail, named after his sister, Abigail."

I listened to a JR interview and he said before starting his newest commentary job he made sure he a lot of facts to read but didn't want to have to use them and if the action is compelling enough then you don't need them and the last thing you want to do is read them for the sake of it. Then again what does he know...

My all time favorite moment was when Sting first showed up at Survivor Series and JBL starts riding his nuts by listing off all his accomplishments. After dick riding this man for a good 10-15 seconds, JBL suddenly goes, "Wait. ...WHAT THE HELL IS STING DOING OUT HERE? THIS IS THE AUTHORITY'S BUSINESS" or some shit. Hilariously stupid moment that made him come off bipolar. Sin Cara with Scooby-Doo was another such moment. "IT'S SCOOBY-DOO! I LOVE THAT GUY! ILUVIT!" (Match ends maybe 2 minutes later.) "GET THAT FLEA-BITTEN THING OUTTA HERE! SCOOBY-DOO, YOU GO TO HELL!"

When Justin Hawk Bradshaw made his debut, I would have laughed if you told me he would be a commentator. Makes you wonder who on the roster nowadays will have spots in the company that we won't expect later. Curtis Axel C.E.O.

Of all the things to complain about regarding WWE's commentary, I don't think giving stats and info about wrestlers is one of them.

I think they do that on purpose, just like they put over AJ Styles as a former NWA champion. They don't mind mentioning that people were successful in TNA, they just try to avoid saying those three letters.

I thought it was very amusing when Sting debuted. This should have been viewed as one of the most shocking things ever but JBL was composed enough to read off Sting's accomplishments within seconds of him walking down to the ring.

I'm fine with him talking up the wrestlers (lord knows someone has to), I just wish he could find a way to work those stats more naturally into a conversation instead of just listing them off like a judge reading a defendant their rap sheet.
Just imagine if JBL had been on NXT the night Finn Balor debuted the demon paint.

Honestly, I think this is the only thing I like about Bradshaw's commentary. You think Lawler would mention Brock being a former IWGP Champion or Sting being a former NWA World Champion? Dammit, Lawler is great as a heel and never gave stats. JR was known for that. It seems more like a play by play thing, by JBL's color commentary happens to be almost like a history buff.

Accomplishments by wrestlers should be done in video packages with a sporting vibe to them, with some information on the wrestler's background and history.
Not a list yelled at the viewer by one of the worst commentators WWE has ever had.

Eh, at least JBL seems to enjoy what he does and probably only does commentary because of that. He's often kinda shitty but he's certainly enthusiastic.

Not a list yelled at the viewer by one of the worst commentators WWE has ever had. He does it way too much. The only time he should be listing accomplishments during commentating is at a special event like at WrestleMania. But god I might take that back because his statistics on Royal Rumble entrants last month was so overwhelming.
