FWIW, another Roku 3 user here and I'm happy with it. Any issues I've had watching the network on it (which aren't a ton) were due to the network itself being spotty, not my Roku.

Usually use my 360 but the father in law bought us an apple TV for our anniversary and I like it a hell of a lot better.

PS3 and PS4 are both good, 360 is ok but stutters and skips a lot. Android looks like a 2007 Dailymotion video no matter what device I play on. Roku 1 plays oerfectly but menu is very slow.

What's the most cost effective smart Blu Ray/DVD player I can get that has the network?

Speaking for myself, I use my Apple TV and my PS3. Apple TV is steady as a rock, aside from the occasional streaming issue. The one thing it doesn't have that the PS3 does the ability to jump to specific matches, assuming you-know-who is not involved.
Personally, if you had to get a set top and use a lot of Apple products, Apple TV makes the most sense.

I watch on my Samsung smart tv. Only issue is I can't change the volume once I'm in the app, which sucks because I generally watch after my gf goes to bed and turning down the sound would keep me out of trouble.

I've watched the Network on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, PC, iPhone and LG Smart TV.
Generally it's worked pretty good on all devices. Xbox One is probably my favourite though. Good layout and zero problems.

Just to give a little update - I ended up purchasing an AppleTV the 4th Gen. version Everything runs so well on the device, as others have said i wish WWE/APPLE would change the layout slightly to try and have every device have a similar layout (But i am getting used to it)
I Loved the PS4 version of the app - So it was quite a bit different.

I've got an Xbox 360 and really disliked using the network on it. My XBOX One seems to run the network better.
My favorite device that seems to work flawlessly every time is my Amazon Fire TV stick. I primarily watch on that device, in my bedroom, away from my router, and it doesn't skip or freeze.

I don't have a smart TV yet (my 32'' is a "Dumb" TV) so I usually have to patch my laptop to it.
Sounds like Roku might have to go on my list. Looking to cut the cord since I barely watch TV anyway, short of Raw, SD and Mythbusters reruns.

I've had nothing but trouble streaming with my PS4. It may be that the system is too far away from my modem, but of all apps on the system... the Network has the most issues. Again, it may be the distance it is away from my modem, because I have similar issues with Twitch since it's live, and I can usually access the on-demand portion with fewer issues... but live events are completely unwatchable on it. Have had good luck with my Xbox One as it's right next to the modem, but I rarely use it as the TV it's connected to is usually spoken for. With that, I usually end up watching live events on my PC as it's the most consistent.
Haven't had any overheating issues with the PS4, although I'll admit... a session of Xbox One vs. a session of PS4 will usually result in the PS4 feeling warmer than the Xbox, so I could definitely see it being a real thing.
