Some say he's the biggest name in wrestling to never step foot in a WWE ring, I'm not one of them. What do you think of The Man, The Myth, The Meltz?

I never cared much for him or what matches he feels are 5 stars.

The fact that I pay a dollar more a month than I do the WWE Network just for his coverage of professional wrestling conveys my exact opinion of the man. He may not always get it right, but he's an excellent journalist through and through.

You're asking me to tell you my opinion on MY own father? For real, though, he's hit and miss. Sometimes I agree with him. When it comes to certain matches and his view on certain guys, I think he hits the nail on the head. Others, I think he's dead wrong. I completely disagreed with most of his ratings for Wrestle Kingdom, ESPECIALLY Tanahashi vs Okada. There are things I like, and things I dislike about him. The main thing I dislike about him is how much he praises the Young Bucks just because they named a move after him and pointed to him at PWG a couple of times. All in all, though, he does his job fantastically. There is no better wrestling journalist out there.

But no for real, the dude has so much knowledge about wrestling, it's actually kinda insane. He's been covering wrestling longer than most folks on this board have been alive. He basically started this "wrestling dirt-sheet" stuff. He's an innovator in this business.
I don't always agree with him but I respect the hell out of the guy. He knows his shit when it comes to nearly any era of wrestling.

He's only one of the most important figures in pro wrestling history who shaped the entire way we view the industry today.
He's alright.

Should be a hall of famer one day. Sadly, it will probably be after he dies.
Big Daddy Meltz is tha God when it comes to covering wrestling. I do not always agree with what he says, and his match ratings are actually pretty much irrelevant but he is a brilliant man. His knowledge of wrestling is insane. He can foresee problems the industry will have years before they actually come to fruition.
A lot of negative feelings towards Meltz stem from other people relaying his reports inaccurately. Dave understands the value of words, and how those words are spoken. Just because another dirt sheet reports what he says without the clarifying statement that proceeded it should no be a black mark on his record.
Long live Meltz.

Meltzer knows more about the business side of wrestling and MMA then probably 90% of the people who have ever been involved in either industry. And his knowledge as a wrestling historian is amazing. Huge fan of the guy.

I didn't vote in the polls. I think he's a fantastic writer, regardless how I disagree with some of his opinions and openly bawk at the idea of what's essentially a 1-20 ranking star system (quarter-stars are ridiculous) (even moreso than negative stars, which makes his system 1-40 which is also absurd), he writes very compellingly and is an always entertaining talking head.
Even when my opinion is the exact opposite of his, I can look at his reasoning and (with one or two exceptions) understand and respect his viewpoint. I don't read critics to validate my own opinions, I read them if/because they're stellar writers regardless, and Meltzer is definitely that.

Loved the Eyada show have no reason to listen/read his stuff now cause I'm not into MMA and from what I've heard he seems bored with wrestling.

For all the knowledge he has, I love hearing him talk because he just comes off as the most chill, affable dude around. I basically expected him to sound more like Keller.

It's impossible to cover an industry like pro wrestling and not get some things wrong along the way, but he's the guy I trust the most to report news.
His newsletter is still the pinnacle of professional wrestling knowledge and coverage.
