RIP. At least his work in FMW will live on forever. I remember not too long ago there was news he was making some progress with his paralysis. Sorry to hear things turned out like this.

Yeah translations say he died of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding between the brain and the tissue. Such a shame too, he finally walked again and was getting his life back to normal. RIP to one of the Japanese legends.

Absolutely heartbreaking news. From giving us one of the most genuinely feel-good, truly emotional moments I can remember by simply walking down to the ring again to this. I'm sure he was many people's introductions to puro through the FMW DVDs back in the day as the awesome, standout talent heading the promotion. Just devastating to hear.

RIP Hayabusa I wish I got to see more of what made him special. I'm glad that he was able to walk again after his paralysis.

So sad, a great talent in his day, and he fought so hard with his condition for years...rest in peace Hayabusa.

He carried FMW on his back. Damnit he should've been bigger, he could've been a draw either in japan or anywhere else.

Just looking at the various Twitter responses from the wrestlers of today, and it really shows how influential this man was in his cruelly short active career. It's a shame he's not going to live to see how much further that influence continues to shape the wrestling landscape around the world.

Watching a video of him walking last year was so emotional. Glad he got there. RIP.

It's such a shame that his life has turned out this way. Just one mistake in the ring changed him forever. It seemed like he was making progress not too long ago and finally walked again, but, regardless of that, rest in peace. Heck of an athlete.

Devastating news to read. He was the first Japanese wrestler to catch my eye and opened up a whole new world of pro wrestling for me. His feud with Mr. Gannosuke was the stuff of legend. He was FMW. Such a tragic story and one of the most awe inspiring wrestlers I've had the privelage to watch. I don't normally get shaken up by wrestlers deaths but this one has gotten to me. Was looking at his DVD and I think the title is a pretty awesome way to remember him.

The Heavenly Wrestling Federation has signed the legendary Hayabusa.
RIP Hayabusa and the fact that he got to walk again probably meant more to him then anything after fighting for so long with his injuries and all. Farewell.

Anyone know where this is from? It caught my curiosity. That was backstage at Summerslam 2006. Hayabusa also made an appearance at an event held at the ECW arena that week as well.

Awful news. I can still remember first seeing him as a teen and being blown away. Such a brave man too.
