I've been revisiting this feud on the Network and it's actually a lot more entertaining than I remember it being.
I've just finished the segment where Stephanie keeps getting beaten up in comical fashion.
1. Steph tries to stop HHH from giving Kurt the pedigree, Triple H elbows her in the head thinking she's a referee intervening. 2. Kurt punches HHH who falls over and effectively elbow drops Stephanie who's still down. 3. Steph crawls away only to be bumped off the apron when Triple H irish whips Kurt into her accidentally. 4. Finally as Triple H tries to carry her away, Kurt just punches HHH which causes them both to spill over.
If you're not happy about her lack of comeuppance nowadays then I recommend finding this segment. It's therapeutic and hilarious.

The only "romance" angle I've ever enjoyed.

It's a great angle, and a good example that - with the caveat of it having to be well written - you can do heel vs. heel feuds that entertain the crowd but don't necessitate a face turn for one of the wrestlers.

God bless Chris Kreski, 2000 WWE had some excellently written storylines.

Their Royal Rumble match is one of the best heel vs. heel encounters.

A ton of fun. The first Raw I ever went to was in the middle of this program and it was so great.

God bless Chris Kreski, 2000 WWE had some excellently written storylines. Actually once read a fun piece by Fin Martin of Powerslam Magazine. He essentially argues that the HHH/Angle/Steph angle was the program that begun the end of the Attitude era. Whilst the era very much trundled on for another year-ish, this angle coincides with a couple things. It marked the demotion of Chris Kreski from head writer, and saw Stephanie McMahon come into the creative team in October 2000. Martin then argued that anti-climatic fashion in which the Angle/Steph/HHH program ended in Fall 2000 was indicative of a new direction in WWE creative, where stories where unsatisfactorily resolved, if at all and saw the genesis of the micromanagement style creative. Not nearly "in the know" as to gauge it as a theory, but it's a fun, logical thought either way.

I remember one of the video packages after Kurt kisses a barely-conscious Stephanie had fireworks going off when they're making out. LOL

LOL Which tends to overshadow the absolute faceplank bump onto the staircase that Stephanie McMahon took leading up to the bit. I dunno what kinda protection she got on it (I doubt any), but it looked like her head was the hammer and the stairs was the nail.

When a storyline features Stephanie getting elbowed multiple times you know you've got a winner.

There really wasn't a payoff though was there? It just kinda faded without any end. But yeah still enjoyable.

I always remember guys like Austin saying on old releases that Stone Cold is him, just turned up to 10. Mick Foley also said on "Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops" that the WWF(E) is like a variety show, offering something for everyone. Things like that stick out to me and makes me wish for the days where guys could take a character or promo and mold it into themselves.

Unforgiven was Triple H vs Angle again, with Stephanie having to choose who she sides with, going with H. Then in October, Triple H feuded with Benoit while Stephanie formed a business only alliance with Angle during the Rock WWF title match. Face Hunter wouldn't allow her to be in his corner during the Benoit feud because it wasn't safe or something...so she offered Angle her managerial services. For the sake of continuity though, Triple H still hated Angle come Royal Rumble for their match, but yeah, it kind of just sputtered out..
