Has Sami Zayn lost a step since his injury?

Ever since his return from injury Zayn has slowed down quite a bit. It was bound to happen eventually after a decade + of wrestling his unique explosive in-ring style, but damn I didn't expect it to happen this soon.


He's one of the best in the business so he can easily adapt a new style thats less demanding on his body. However, I'm really salty that WWE didn't call him up earlier in 2013-2014. He's coming on the main roster and its gonna kick ass, but it won't be the Sami Zayn in his prime that we all know and love.

He's bulked up quite a bit so I think that has more to do with it. I'd wager he'll slim down while on the road full time and regain a step or two.

Ring rust could also be a factor; taking that long off of wrestling probably does a lot to a guy's speed, and in general the only way to condition yourself for wrestling is to wrestle.

My guess is that he's been holding back and playing it safe because they told him A) He's Nakamura's first match and B) Getting a 'Mania match with Kevin Owens in the same weekend. Those are huge opportunities for him and I'm sure he's hesitant to go full throttle before that weekend so fresh off of a serious injury.

Stop it. There are two threads on the first two pages that concern Sami and this is closest thing to shitting on him and it is far from it. You're going to have to get used to accepting different opinion and not doing stuff like this.

I think he's done fine. He may have to adapt and change his style due to the injury. Even if he does have to slow things down, he's the kind of performer that will make it work for him. Sami was able to go from wrestling in a mask for his entire career, to becoming one of the best guys at showing emotion with his facial expressions ever. The guy just gets it and, while he may not be as quick, we'll still be getting a top tier Sami Zayn on the main roster.

Yeah he'll be fine, but I don't think he'll set the world on fire with his in-ring ability as much as he could pre-injury. He can make up for it with his character work though easily.

Where at?The London match was very good but tonights Joe/Zayn match was alriiiiiight. Its been decent/average matches for Zayn lately. Heard he had a crazy match with Balor on a house show tho

The first match with Joe was great, the London match was pretty good, and just based on watching him be back for the last two months he is just as good as always.
