Maybe.
Look, Cole is alright. He is serviceable sometimes, and bad other times, but his voice isn't that grating and he can be good.
Saxton neither adds nor subtracts from the show. He is just there. Would it be better with someone actually good there? Of course, but he doesn't ruin the show.
I hated Lawler on RAW for ages. He was lifeless, his jokes were tired, he didn't give a f*** and his chair-leading for Cena got old. However, apparently he is doing well on SD now as a heel so good for him.
JBL is ruining the show for me. I seriously hate listening to him. I barely watch RAW anyway, just the youtube clips of the stars I'm interested in, but as a network subscriber, I do tune into nearly every PPV and Network Special and...
JBL is horrible. He is horrible. He's so grating to listen to and I can't stand him. He just shouts over everyone the same phrases over and over IN HIS HORRIBLE SHOUTY VOICE. Here comes Lesnar? Let's have JBL read his resume AGAIN.
I truly, truly hate JBL on commentary, and it's a shame, as I like his Legends with JBL show. He's a good interviewer, just an obnoxious commentator. It doesn't matter to me that he is supposed to be a heel (and perhaps, apparently supposed to be annoying). I hate listening to him. Jerry Lawler, as a heel in the late nineties, was a commentator I absolutely loved. He was so funny (apart from the puppies stuff). He added to the show. JR added to the show SO much. He was so integral to the popularity of the attitude era in my opinion, and even the rise of Stone cold.. He made everything seem epic. JR in his prime never made me want to turn off the show.
I don't want to do a pining for THEE ATTITUUEDE EERRAZX!!11 post, but God. I miss good commentary (I'm aware Mauro is doing great on SD).
Don't even get me started on "YOU STILL GOT IT!"

He hurts matches/angles every now and then but really, it's the Raw crew as a whole that hurts things rather any individual person. I've never heard anything of substance come from Pope's match and his commentary hurts every major match. He's seriously one of the worst commentators I've ever heard. |

They could play the sound of a dial up modem, for three hours, and I wouldn't find that as annoying as I do JBL.

I really don't understand how a company so obsessed with being modern and cool, a company that fired JR for being ugly, has a commentary team of JBL/Cole/Saxton (quite possibly the 3 dorkiest people of all time) over a possible team of Graves/Mauro/Young
But of course they'll keep chugging along with that awful 3 until one of them decides to quit because change is evil or whatever crazy Kevin Dunn loving Vince thinks..,

Say they got rid of Cole and called Mauro up to RAW, and maybe even stuck him with Graves. You know they'd still stick JBL on the desk with them. I would love Big Show to try commentary. |
