Mentioned this in another thread, felt it was worth fleshing out and seeing if anyone agrees. In her case it's not even because of age, like Undertaker, or because of health like Daniel Bryan. She just feels out of place on the roster today, sort of a last holdout from a previous era. All the women that could be called her peers are all long gone; Beth, Victoria, Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool-the list goes on. And while she's only had one run with the title, it feels like she's really done all there is for her to do and now there is nowhere left for her to do in terms of moving upward. Heck, even her role on Total Divas has grown less prominent. And looming over all is the fact that her husband is now retired himself. Not that she can't have a career without him on the road with her, but they were so tied in together for the last couple years that it almost feels like there would be no point to her on tv without him. Her best role at this stage is probably as a trainer for the rookies.

She's good in the ring, is fairly over and can only help the other girls get better. But yeah you don't like her so she should totally end her career.

These aren't very good reasons to retire.

She just feels out of place at this point. Kane felt out of place a few years ago and an inspired pairing with Daniel Bryan gave him one of the best and most popular runs in his 20 year career. If you can still go, you can still go.

Isn't she like the last of the Harts though? Other then Teddy (Lol} and DBS Jr. (Japan). I mean we've got like five anao'i 's , we need atleast one hart to balance that crap out.

She just feels out of place at this point. At this stage, I liken her to Goldust (let me explain before extreme overreaction). For the main roster and more specifically the women's division, she's perfectly acceptable worker, well enough over with the crowd, and will potentially eat the bad side of squashes. In a women's roster that is trying to push three women (maybe four after WM) as major players, people like Nattie are pretty important in getting those others over.

Yes, she should retire from her paying job because YOU want her to.
Sounds reasonable.

She fits in better with this generation of women who can wrestle than the catfight diva search sorts.

Yeah she fits in better now I think.
Sure it'd be great if she were 5 years younger but sadly that isn't how it works. I think she is still valuable

So where does that leave the Undertaker? if all your peers being gone means you have to retire, not to mention the likes of AJ, Jericho..

Her match with Charlotte at Roadblock was really good. She can still hang with the current crop of women.

She fits in better now than she debuted. Charotte, Sasha, Becky, Bayley, Asuka are all women she could have really good matches against. The issue with Natalya is that they won't give her anything to do. She's a year older than the Bella Twins so age isn't even an issue they just don't seem to have anything for her which sucks because she's talented in the ring and she's not horrendus at promos. I'd like to see her be champion again at some point, but I don't hold much hope. I totally understand why she'd be pissed at where she is in the company but get that money I guess.

Love her or hate her, being "out of place" is not a good reason for a wrestler to retire.

I don't know her financial situation but she's in her early 30's and her husband isn't working so she probably isn't in a position to never have to work again for the rest of her life.

If her husband is retired, then someone has to be the breadwinner in their house.

Natalya is one of the best female wrestlers they have and can put on excellent matches if they give her the time of day. As long as she's in the physical condition to wrestle and wants to stay in the ring, I don't see why she should retire. Besides, the diva roster isn't that big. Losing one of the best wrestlers the division has would be pretty damaging, not just for the pure match quality that would be lost, but because she can pad the roster out so there isn't as much repetition in the match selections.

She can't leave, there's nobody to take over her bat-shit-crazy-mother-hen role on Total Divas
