With Sting (seemingly) retiring now, I was thinking about wrestlers that stuck to their guns and stayed retired. So obviously not Terry Funk or Mick Foley.
The prominent ones I can think of are Stone Cold and Edge, though perhaps it was simply their injuries that kept them away (throw Bryan in here), Shawn Michaels, Christian.
It's kind of hard to name because so many old wrestlers would still wrestle if Vince would let them; Hogan, despite being unable to move anymore would still have happily and shamelessly gone and stunk the joint up at a Mania if it hadn't been for the whole racism thing. Also so many old guys who you think would have retired by now, haven't. Undertaker, Kane, Show, Henry, HHH etc.
Are there any other prominent wrestlers from the past few decades that retired and stayed retired?
I'd say Flair, but then there's the whole TNA thing.
