While ROH is undoubtably the #2 promotion in the United States and there's no argument whatsoever to the contrary, the reason the TNA boards need to stay open is because there's so much happening with TNA that needs to be discussed. While the viewership and notoriety does continue to dwindle, it's still generating a lot of regular news that completely warrants the company having its own forum on these boards. If anything, I'd advocate for adding an ROH section before I'd say to scrap the TNA one. Eh. You could argue at least TNA is still number two for brand recognition; while ROH is a hell of a lot more stable a business, is doing better financially, and has more widespread influence, TNA is still better known among the general public. Granted, even if it number two it's a pretty firmly by default thing and really means nothing. As for adding an ROH board, the problem with that is there just plain isn't very much to talk about. If it suddenly had tons of threads going for it in Wrest, maybe, or if the one was so breakneck it's impossible to tell what's going on, but in general there just isn't much to discuss with it most of the time. 1) Is it really more known by the general public though? Not saying ROH is a household name just yet, but even when TNA clips go viral, the talent involved is seldom named "TNA Superstar," but rather "ex-WWE wrestler" or just "Wrestler." 2) Perhaps the reason there isn't more ROH threads is because the one thread seems to be a catch-everything scenario and we've just become kind of conditioned to curb discussion on topics quickly between pages as, with some much going on, it's hard at times to figure out who is addressing what. Look at how the Lio Rush announcement last week muted the discussion of everything before it. Yet, any time there is a thread on an ROH topic in Wrest, it usually does pretty well. I'd say an ROH board would be worth a try.

Yay...I guess it's that time of the week again... When people stop looking and contributing then the ones in charge will shut it down... I am SO sick of people bringing this topic up every couple weeks/months...
TNA is trying...please just cut them 1% of slack and quit being so negative...

If we are going to create another board, I would rather we increase WWE Current to 2002 - Present with the brand split and WWE name change as the border. And then all the classic promotions like WWF/WCW/ECW/AWA/Territories/whatever else becomes (w)rest, and then when TNA finally dies, we get a subsection dedicated to all current smaller promotions, from PWG, NJPW, GFW, Lucha Underground, and anything else in between.

In terms of who's bigger between TNA and ROH, I'd say barely TNA at this point, on account of having a UK deal, and some other international deals. ROH only has France right now afaik, and hasn't been on in the UK in over 10 years. I've heard their american exposure is about equal ATM. Pretty Sure RoH is in more places in America now since Pop is super tiny.

By losing Roode and Young the same day? By pushing woman beater Bram? Sadly the only interesting stuff tna has been doing is just catching Ls every week. The only way they could try to become better would be firing the current regime and changing their business model. Betting the farm on the Hardy Boys didn't work at all. Matt isn't a draw, Matt prove that he can't draw as a main eventer and they lost a lot of money on an injured Jeff Hardy. EC3 was their future, but now he's being fed to Maria's husband. I can't see how the tna board can be used for anything other than making fun of them at this point.

I guess merging a TNA board with ROH talk is a good way to go, but does it generate enough ROH talk - or take too much away from (w)Rest? Inquiring minds.......ask respectfully and are ok if there's no immediate answer.

Lets face it, it's not deserved it's own board for quite some time. It's only tradition that has kept the status quo. It could be merged with wrest with nary a ripple. Or at the very least have the other 'big' companies get promoted from Wrest and join TNA in a new board.

My official statement from this thread 2 months ago and 2 pages back regarding replacing the TNA forum with something else: I'm honestly not sure, when TNA does finally go the way of the dodo, if we even need to replace it with another forum. Replacing it just to replace it serves no real purpose, and we see that there isn't anything, from LU to ROH to MMA, that's just blowing up (W)rest enough to warrant its own. Trying to split up the indies isn't going to happen, there's going to be too much conjecture over which ones belong or don't. Long story short, there are several factors keeping the TNA forum open right now. Beyond the above statement, TNA - for good or ill - is sort of its own animal these days and it's not ready to be absorbed into (W)rest. When it is, it will be.

One can make the argument that ROH is the number 2 promotion in the US these days. With the exodus of talent recently - AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Eric Young - is TNA really relevant anymore? Couldn't TNA be absorbed into (w)rest of wrestling? No not all At. Makes no sense why tna still has a forum. All it does is bring out the negative in everyone because there is nothing positive left about this skeleton organization.

If you take into account the history of this board, it makes sense for WWE & TNA to have its own section.
Whereas companies like Lucha Underground & RoH may have equal reach as TNA, they are ...well, lacking in the "being crapped on" department right now.
Not to put too fine a point of it, but a board's/thread's popularity/traffic seems to be based in the potential for jokes made at its expense. So, while TNA is definitely not the company it used to be in terms of reach & size, it's closer to WWE in terms of "WTF are they thinking?!?!!?" type discussion.

ROH is my favorite promotion in the world but TNA's knack for hijinx is what earns them a board. TNA scraping and clawing for survival is usually the most fascinating thing happening.
I think an ROH board would be a modest success, I think TNA still benefits from exposure provided from years on Spike TV, and ROH doesn't really open itself up to ridicule very much so it probably wouldn't be as "fun" as TNA/WWE boards but I think it would be alright.

I agree that it doesn't really deserve one anymore, but laughing at them is usually the one thing that keeps us together.

I propose the closure of the TNA forum and a grand reopening and rebranding as the official RRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLERJAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM forum I'd rather it be used to discuss SLAMBALL!

If this place shuts down, where will I go to share my reviews of ONO shows? WHERE!?

If this place shuts down, where will I go to share my reviews of ONO shows? WHERE!? Well, maybe the shutdown will adhere to ONO logic, where you can still post on the board months after it actually happens.
