The Larry Sanders Show was wonderful. That was my introduction to him. And his Marvel movie appearances were a surprising (and last minute, sadly) delight. Hail Hydra, sir. RIP

Sad. I'm not sure if The Larry Sanders Show ever got enough acknowledgement, not to say it didn't get a lot of great critical reviews and awards.

Sad. I'm not sure if The Larry Sanders Show ever got enough acknowledgement, not to say it didn't get a lot of great critical reviews and awards. Rip Torn saying "Don't take this as a threat, but I killed a man like you in Korea" to a woman is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen and that was just the first episode.

"I once made love to a woman for an hour and five minutes...of course, that was the day we set the clocks ahead."
His shows were good, but his stand-up was hilarious. Find the special where he worked the Washington Correspondence dinner with President G.H.W. Bush (41).
"He's the sweetest, nicest guy you could ever meet. I tell you, if you had an Uncle Bush, this is the guy. I thought he was gonna give me a nickel at one point. 'Oh, Mr. President, what do I buy?' "
"He shows me the Gettysburg Address signed by Lincoln. And he turns to me and says, 'And you know, there's lot of stuff like this here!' "I'm sure there is, Mr. President; it's the White House, sir."
RIP Garry. Hope your hair looks good even in death.
