The New Day is just like Santino

Both started off as awful white meat babyfaces fighting the good fight with a outdated 90's gimmick. The fans turned on them and they became arrogant jerk heels with a obnoxious sense of humor.

They suddenly become really entertaining and funny and actually the best part of the show. What does the WWE do? they turn them face because they feel it's going to work the same. Almost right away you can feel how childish they both became and painfully unfunny to the point you wouldn't want to be seen watching one of their segments.

But you see... New Day JUST turned face.

Yeah and they are catering to the 6 year olds.

I think some are overstating how funny they were as heels. They've always had clunkers.

New Day are much, much better wrestlers, so I can tolerate a lot of booty pandering in return, especially since they've been getting better, even.

The difference is that Kofi and Big E are infinitely more talented than Santino and their ceilings are main event level. Sure, Xavier's ceiling is closer to Santino's level since he doesn't have a chance of being a main eventer, he's still higher than Santino.

No offense to Santino but I take the New Day's career way more seriously. I see Kofi and Big E having chances of being WWE Champion in the future tbh, after WM we'll see what happens. Santino, even during the EC match, nah son.

Eh, I'm still under the assumption that Kofi, Xavier, and Big E all have input into what they want to do in their promos and such. Maybe this is just what they want to do. Personally, I think the "Booty-Os" thing is funny just because it totally sounds like a cereal that would actually be produced.

See I give New Day a bit more leighway because they didn't do something as stupid as, say, turning face while still pretending to be a woman in an angle that somehow got steered in every wrong direction. And then keeping them connected to celebrity guest hosts. And THEN having them lose so often that when they DO win a match they're not only taken more seriously but ALSO destroys whatever aura was left of the heel you had go over your top babyface less than a YEAR ago and having to rebuild them back up by winning the midcard title off a MUCH more popular babyface!

...Yeah, I'm still not over that.

The problem that all comedy acts go through is that they get stale and run out of material quickly. The problem with wrestling is before you get established, you are only good as you were last week and have to go balls out every week to get over. And than when you get established, you get complacent and start shouting the same catchphrases more and more.

At least comedians and comedy writers have breaks to come up with new material. This will always be a problem in the future

If it wasn't for Santino I would be telling you to back to the kitchen and make me a sammwich. Wrestling has really progressed me.

Santino's gimmick started off as an audience member sitting in the crowd.

Big E started off as a damn powerlifter and is former NXT Champion. I think one has more credibility than the other.

I'd rank Santino as possibly one of the top 15 greatest Intercontinental champions of all time.

Granted, my viewership of the New Day is almost next to non existent, but I doubt they'd break top 30 greatest tag champions.

Santino *did* get bad, but at his height, he was pretty much the only good part of Raw in 2008/09.

You nailed it. WWE face turns are the absolute worst. They flat out blow at it.
