I'm probably more interested in the WWE one because it's so out of character for them.

Ask me again when a single name is announced for either tournament.

Looking forward to both, but, if all the promotions that commited to the J-Cup only participate to the J-Cup. New Japan can draw from a more interesting pool of talent.
WWE has itself, NXT, EVOLVE and I think Rev Pro. New Japan has itself, ROH, CMLL, Dragon Gate & NOAH... and probably Liger booking it, and he has the biggest rolodex in wrestling.

Honestly not terribly likely to watch either. Not really one to watch non-WWE stuff besides ROH, because it's the only thing I don't need to go out of my way for, and I generally just set up my Network account for long enough to watch PPVs and Takeovers and use it for nothing besides that in the meantime. Plus not a fan of weight classesd in wrestling.

probably GCS, and that's not to say I'm not excited for the J Cup, but I'm more intrigued to see what kind of lineup WWE will put together. I have an idea of what New Japan will do, and it'll be a stacked field.

See, if you promise the PCS then I'm gonna vote for it every time.
I don't care if it's been over a decade, that was glorious an I always wanted a sequel.

I'll enjoy both I'm sure but I'm way more excited about the GCS mainly because pretty much since NJPW phased Devitt out of the Jr. Division it has been a joke. Sure they've got outside talent coming in and I'd love to see someone like Kanemaru have a good, long run in the Cup but frankly I think it'll be a bit of a disappointment. The GCS is something totally out of left field for WWE (by the way I'd love this, the Dusty Rhodes Tag Tourney and maybe a women's show and a heavyweight show to each become an annual thing - it leads to great shows for us and allows WWE to properly evaluate independent talent, would be a really cool future). With it being a Hunter ran thing I expect it to be logical and well booked and his talent acquisition has generally been pretty spot on too. Should be great.
Of course my opinions could completely change on both when the line-ups are released.
