I'm honestly surprised they're more interested in Young than Roode.

I.... don't understand the appeal of Young. Especially over Roode. Roode is the total package and Young is... not that good.

Eric Young's pretty damn talented and all, but I see no reason at all to take him over Roode.

Yeah I gon't get it either. Young isn't terrible by any means, it's just Roode is superior in every way.

Someone needs to sit Hunter down and show him Roode's title run from 11/12. If he doesn't want to sign him after that I don't know what to say.
EY's a good hand but I wouldn't be going out of my way to sign him.

I would have guessed they'd be helping either Joe or Aries at Takeover coming up.
But WWE really, really hates acknowledging TNA that I'd be more surprised if they seriously considered grouping them together.
I don't really blame them I guess, AJ and Joe are doing fine on their own, no need to really bunch 'em all up.

Roode and Young sounds like a another "DON'T GOOGLE IT!" tag team like the Submission Sorority or whatever they were called.

Don't care about Eric Young. Please hire Roobe. Only if it leads to Jibbles repeatedly saying, "What a Roobe!" everytime he messed up.

Young is younger and more versatile than Roode so it make sense, IMO. Don't get me wrong, Roode is good but I cannot see him doing half the stuff EY has had thrown at him by TNA and making it work. There is more for Hunter to get out of EY based on that than there is Roode. Plus given the money issues they had with TNA I think EY would be cheaper.

I can see why people like Roode more, but I can definitely see why Eric Young would be preferred.
Roode is extremely bland in my view. The thing I like most about Young is his ability to change things up. Let's also not forget how good he is in the ring overall.
From all the times I have seen Roode, I can not recall a time that he stood out as a star. Great worker, but not necessarily all that special.
Eric just comes across as a lot more fun whereas Roode looks too much like the majority of people on the NXT roster.

Eric Young suits the WWE, he can play an over the top character and can also work, I can see him having a run like R-Truth.

The word going around is that they quit because they weren't happy with the direction of their characters. They've been in TNA for several years, and they're just now not happy with the direction of their characters? My guess is that WWE sent out feelers to both guys, and they jumped at the chance.

Roode is bland as hell. Good look, good worker, and can play an effective heel when given a chance, but nothing really stands out about him. His 2012 run was basically HHH-lite so I'm surprised Hunter doesn't have more interest.
I never got the hype with EY, but others seem to like him.
Personally, I think outside of Lashley, Jeff, and EC3, there isn't much WWE can take from TNA that will benefit them. Taking Joe and Aries was basically taking the best of what they had left.

Tbh Roode was kinda HHH-ish so I'm not surprised by this at all. He's not bad but he doesn't stand out as much as Young.

People sleep on EY, but look at how many different types of characters he's played in TNA. Plucky comedic babyface, ruthless heel stable leader, underdog babyface, psycopathic evil heel. He's got range that Roode just doesn't have.
