I swear this was a rumored match. That creative suggest Hogan fight Valentine. Am I imagining this?

I remember this too. I think Hogan really wanted in on that Wrestlemania. Wasn't he rumored to face Khali also?

I seem to recall this match being rumoured for earlier than 23, maybe WM20, but Hogan poo-poo'ed it as Valentine wasn't a "Mania level" opponent for him and didn't come back to WWE for more than a year later.

Frankly the idea of Greg Valentine wrestling a match at a modern day WrestleMania makes me want to shove a pipe through my eye socket.
Remember when Vince apparently wanted Valentine to be part of that handicap Legends match at WrestleMania XXV until Jericho pushed for Steamboat to take his place?

That said with the recent successes of the Taker matches, maybe it's time to invest in an old man fight league.

That makes me want to ask the question...if WWE had a wrestling version of the Senior PGA Tour, would people actually go?

That makes me want to ask the question...if WWE had a wrestling version of the Senior PGA Tour, would people actually go? Idt it would sell out by any means, but a senior circuit as part of the main card could be interesting. I created a WWE Senior Heavyweight Championship in EWR using anyone that was 40+. They can still compete for the main title but the difference would be in order to do that, they'd have to be a full timer.

This makes as much sense as Shane McMahon fighting taker in a hell in a cell.
Valentine was never a main eventer in WWE in his prime let alone 20 years later. I don't get it. And he never interacted with hogan so why would they suddenly get into a feud? Make a no sense.

He even got a Inoki reign with the WWE Championship too.

Funny considering Valentine was well past his prime in 1992.
